My comrades never want to.. /do/ anything. Namely, go to the gym.

Once I pretty much beg them, they'll go. Besides that, they never want to. It's sad, because they want to get healthy, they just don't want to put the effort in. I feel like I've almost conditioned them to rely on me now. They've literally never gone by themselves, and at this point, I'm not sure if they ever will.

I feel like the, "good friend", thing to do would be to continue to motivate them, and get them to come. However, the cynical part of me realizes that it doesn't really matter, and if I continue to encourage them, all it will do is condition their line of thought.

What do you guys think? I'm aware that without knowledge of me, or my comrades personalities, it's impossible to judge. I don't really care to hear opinions on that situation either, it's just anecdotal.

What I am wondering, is how you all feel about the social responsibilities that accompany "friends". Do you think that it's our responsibility, to acknowledge and encourage our friends toward healthier lifestyles? How do you feel about things such as these.

I've always wished that I had a buddy to work out with. Exercise would've done wonders for me when I was younger but I'm going to be catching the bus soon so why bother now?

You can only do your best, outside of that, there isn't anything you can do. You can lead an ass to water but you can't make it drink.

This is very kind of you to rally for your friends. Your taking them by the figurative hand and accompanying them to the gym makes a powerful statement to them--that they are loved and cared about. It's not your job to get them to the gym each and every time. You are a very good friend.

Exercise doesn't make you healthy. There is a reason why they don't want to do it.

Lord, if you made me go to the gym I'd stop talking to you, idk, maybe also murder your kitten.

Getting someone to do something they clearly don't enjoy is never true help.

Lmaoo omg no, if you murdered my cat I'd have to exact my revenge

Meh, re reading my post it didn't make it very evident, but she was the reason I started going anyway, because she already bought a gym card and wanted a gym buddy :<
