Shotgun to ctb

I'm planning on ctb with a 3 inch 12 gauge shotgun. I know I need to do it through the mouth aiming at the brain stem but what ammo should I use? I heard people recommend the 00 buckshot but I'd figure a slug would be better. Also, I don't want my family dealing with the mess so what location would be best to do it? I was thinking the middle of the woods but I don't want children finding me.

Shooting yourself in the head or body will not kill you right away. You will suffer extreme pain for quite a while. I wouldn't do it.

As someone who has seen first hand the effects of 12 gauge shotgun to the head. I'd have to disagree. My friend didn't have much left of a head,pretty sure he died almost instantly.

I'm no gun expert, but depending on the shell, you won't have a head left. I don't think your nervous system will have time to react to the pain from what little I've seen.
