I asked a question about gun suicide and there was only one joke response to me too. I've read in the mouth angled slightly upward gets the best results.

Anywhere where the shot is going into the brain will work, although it is extremely messy. Under the chin and the shot can go straight up with disastrous consequences.

Suicide with shotgun can fail. Shot at the head must hit keys areas such as the brainstem to be lethal. Several shots may be needed against the body to be lethal. Suicide by cop can be more successful. If you threaten the police with a gun, they will kill you.

But with a cop they could hit you in the wrong spot of the head and you could just die slowly. Plus your ass is going to jail if you fail.

Through the mouth. Flinching seems near impossible if the barrel is held between one's cheeks and teeth. I'd aim between my ears at eyes height. The energy alone will probably suffice, btw. The slug or pellets are just the cherry on top. Chin shot is a big nono, and the most prominent way of messing up the most reliable method of all.

It definitely does. Only explanation I can think of is a chin shot blasting one's face to smithereens. It's truly a horrific sight and one loses most, possibly all, of one's senses instantaneously and is severely disabled/disfigured henceforth.

Why would you even recommend suicide by cop? Chances of survival are very high as well, you could get tasered. Also, that cop now has to live with the fact that you forced them to kill you.
Suicide by shotgun is also one of my methods. I've watched a couple sucide videos (especially the one with the Russian dude). For me I'm going to place it probably behind my ear or in my mouth. Extremely messy but very effective.

There may be some bloodthirsty cops out there who get off on killing, but chances are you're ruining someone else's life if you do this. Just don't. And then there's the consequences if you fail. Also, if you're in the US, good luck getting a cop to kill you if you're not a minority. They'll probably get you a hamburger on the way to jail.

Because anything can fail if you don't know how to do it right. Also, what books? And Wikipedia claims shotgun has the highest chance of success too. Are you denying this?

If I ever get a gun I would just shoot myself while laying down on some train tracks with the train about a minute or 30 seconds away in case it jams. I'm pretty sure it won't matter where you put it if you do that although it'd be better to do that with a handgun so it doesn't mess up the train's wheels running it over.
