Today is the day I think I will end my life. I have poor social skills, I'm lacking in energy and motivation, I'm easily stressed out by life and always forget to do some basic chores/tasks. It feels like people are becoming more selfish and materialistic, thus a true friendship/romantic relationship seems impossible in combination with my previous attributes. The only people I have in my life are my parents, and I think they are bad people for a variety of reasons. I have felt this way for years, going back to age 12-13. At 24, I want out.

After doing some research, I am pretty deadset on using a shotgun, as it seems to have the highest lethality rate of any method. I made the purchase for a shotgun and rounds, and am planning to end it this evening. I want to make sure I am doing this correctly, as the last thing I want is to suffer, or survive and live an even worse life.

My method is this: Use a 12 gage shotgun (Mossberg Maverick 88 Cruiser) with buckshot (plastic shotshells, 2.75 00), and aim it at the back of my mouth, aiming upwards towards brain stem. As I see it, this method should result in death near instantly, if not immediate. My questions:

Does this methodology sound correct? If not, how so?
I know there is recoil with using a high powered gun, what should I expect/prepare for in advance?
Is there anything I am missing from this method?
Any other pointers?

This is the first time I will be buying/using a gun, so I apologize if these are very basic questions. Thanks for any input, its truly appreciated

It's very unwise to attempt suicide with a gun if you never ever fired a gun before. Or with a new gun you never used before, not knowing it's recoil and how the gun behaves when fired.

U only feel the recoil if u practice shooting at a range

Recoil doesn't affect the aim or shot

In a ctb attempt u will be unconscious before the recoil hits

But I recommend lots of practice dry firing and with ammo

It's flinching before pulling trigger that is the problem

@ItsOverGopher sounds like you have it figured out. It's not pretty but as far as pain and effectiveness go it's first class.

@ItsOverGopher

Are you doing this because you feel that in the absence of friendships and romantic relationships, you need to end your life?

Yeah, my main fear with shotgun is due to my inexperience using one. I'll probably run by a gun range to get some test shots. Might be a little too cautious, but I can't risk messing up.

Another noob question lol, but what do you mean by "flinching"?

Its not for that reason only, but I feel as though I don't really have much of a motivating factor for me to keep going, which I think a relationship, especially a romantic one, would help tremendously. At this point, it feels like I'm really working to save money/make a number go up. AKA I'm living to exist. I don't really have much else going for me. Its just an empty living experience where I'm reminded of my shortcomings. Added with the stress, its just not worth it anymore to me.
