Never just dismiss it because it's "nasty".
my dad went to the doctor after 1 week and it was shingles.
I lasted almost 6 months before they pinned me down,stuck tubes in every orifice (and created some extra), and removed half my intestine.
They said there wasn't even time to get a scan
