selfish? idk.

i've been thinking about this all day, maybe i just want to put something out there, but i feel a tad selfish for not telling others about this site. because of my abandonment issues, i am terrified that i'll wake up one day and my gf is gone, my best friends are gone, and i'm alone, and then i'll be gone too. or mentally gone, if SI kicks in mentally.

am i being selfish? i try to listen and be there for my friends when i can.

yes, one of my friends is pretty depressed, and my other friend lives in an abusive household. and my gf probably knows about SN but hasn't done anything. (she has BPD and had an episode, it was kinda bad.)

This site is a curse, sure it helps people find peace, but it also amplifies suicidal thoughts as it did for me, I'm glad this site exists, but I'm also depressed to see so many people die

yeah, i feel the same way tbh. i feel relief but also great sadness when i see crossed out names or good byes. i understand, but part of me wishes they were here... happy and content... and then i start wondering about the other side...

ultimately it is up to you if you want to share it. as @MrDarkness said, for some this site amplifies suicidal ideation. for others it can be a release.

personally I'd never share this site with anyone I knew irl. not because I think it's bad but I want to protect my identity and safe place.

yeah, a lot. or just wanting to die and cease existing. and i tell him that i can't do this without him, i mean he is like my best friend. and he is incredibly sweet. life and girls have been shit to him.

I see. well, if you don't decide to share this site I don't view that as a selfish act. you want to protect your friends from further ideation.

I believe for most that finding this site was a personal journey; either brought upon by excessive googling, tantacruel's video, the NYT article or the Wikipedia page.

I think it's a personal decison deciding whether to share this site or not and I guess that if other people are searching for suicide methods there is a chance they might come across it themselves. And if those people choose to leave then that is their right and their decision, we are all just destined to cease existing anyway, I certainly believe that nobody should be forced to suffer here.

there's a wiki page? and yeah i went from the video —> nyt page (i have a subscription) and then tried to sign up (but i think the website went private), and then was able to sign up now.

i know that if both of my friends leave their family situations, i know they will be 10000% happier.

and yeah, we all become ashes in the end.
