I mean, I guess I do know the answer—because the system relies on the average person suffering their whole life—but why don't the people in power ever feel remorseful?
I don't even want to put energy into breathing, so what makes them think that I want to climb the corporate ladder until I die two years after my retirement, especially when I won't even have anything to show for it (shout-out to Gen Z and every generation after us who won't be buying their first home until AT LEAST 50).
Every day has been, and will continue to be, BARELYYYYYYYYYYYY making it by while being told "you can't quit," "you can't quit," "you can't quit," "you can't quit," "it gets better," "let's try another medicine," "your therapy sessions now cost $150/hour," "you can't quit," "you can't quit," "oh, that medicine didn't work either...let's try another," "you can't quit."
Just. Fucking. LET. ME. GO.
It literally feels like I'm being stabbed to death and then revived at the last moment so I can continue to suffer...OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
