I recall there once being a scam spreadsheet for SN, though I might just be confusing that with N. You did the right thing by coming here and asking us. If you have any more questions regarding SN, I would recommend posting a thread saying you'd like clarification and waiting for someone to pm you before showing your information.
The problem with your logic is that the dealer doesn't want you dead, they want you alive and hooked on their stuff so they can continue selling it to you, preferably at an ever increasing price.
