Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

Dr Philip Nitschke retweeted a news post on Twitter about the first use of his Sarco device. The article itself doesn't contain any details and I can't find more info.
Does anyone here know anything about this story?

"The cost of Sarco will depend on what is charged by the 3D print shop. While the price is dropping all the time, it will never be very cheap. In 2022, the cost to print a Sarco is around €17,000."
The Sarco is gonna replace N in euthanasia clinics, effectively demedicalizing the process and completely removing the gatekeepers (doctors) from the ecuation.

Thaddeus Pope, a bioethicist at the Mitchell Hamline School of Law, said the debate over Sarco may result in a new way of approaching end-of-life options by legislators, saying that "That might be bigger or more important than the actual Sarco itself," and that Dr. Nitschke was "illustrating the limitations of the medical model and forcing us to think."
So, do you expect Swiss vad orgs to skip the evaluation process with doctors and psychologists... and radically reduce the price ( coz now it's said to be high because it involves the docs ), and allow anyone to use their sarco machines?

we will get there, for younger generations, but not this year
the current (indoctrinated) governments will need to be replaced by open minded people
i imagine this sequence:
- fierce battle against idiots that will try to stop it (religious people are intelligent but they refuse to think)
- religion is at 50%, and going down (50 years ago it was at 99%)
- when religion gets to less than 25% acceptance in governments, our personal autonomy will be respected
- eventually brighter minds will succeed: intelligence / common sense / logic vs. religion
this is this website is so important: not for me (not now), but for younger people
(we already have nebutal and sarco available - religion denies all peaceful methods)
for now, we are left with own methods unfortunately, but i like the fact that you are bring up this discussion!

i think the sarco will make a profound difference in society , & will be the first method to be publically accepted by
the masses. bringing with it a sense of control back to the people.
Its peaceful & non-violent & has no fear response associated with it.....
its not that far away when people will look back at the present & wonder how insane it was to be perpetuating
suffering, when the means to a peaceful exit have been available for decades but denied to all.........

ooo very interesting... basically just the gas method?
To be honest i dont get what the point of building an entire pod is if you can just use a mask, but... interesting
The point is to completely remove the gatekeepers (doctors) from the assisted suicide process, since N will no longer be needed. A completely demedicalized procedure.
still it doesn't mean that psych tests are going to be a thing of the past. just means they won't need to employ a medical doctor to prick you with a needle. pretty sure the cost will be the same.
The only psych test will be one to prove that you are of sound mind. Dr Philip Nitschke has said that in the future this test will be performed by an AI.

How will this demedicalize suicide? Will the government not ban this as well? Dr.Philip says one doesn't need a medical prescription which is fine, but govt. will ban the device itself.
i know there isn't much info about this yet. someone mentioned it was €17,000 and another said something about a 3d printer. so they don't reuse these? you have a custom one built for you? do you then still go there or is it sent to you? if they send it, i'll have the same problem sourcing the nitrogen XD

But , even if one travels to SZL, I don't think it will be as simple as just buying it and using it. There will be some beurocracy involved. The law will make the device illegal I guess.

it probably has to be done there. only they get to charge you more and save on having to hire a medical doctor. i guess you get to keep the coffin with a nice window though.
