  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

I know there was already a thread on saltwater but I still need clarification. If I drink 56 grams of saltwater, will I die in less then 20 minutes? I don't care if it's painful, life is painful, will I die?

Can someone confirm?? I just got out of hospital for a failed attempt. I have nothing to use anymore so this may have to be my method.

Sorry for replying to my own thread but I'm just trying to move this up on the list. Can someone confirm our deny this working?

lol, no

NaCl has an estimated ld50 of over 12g/kg. So unless you're baby, you'll just be nauseous af.

Should 528 grams do the trick, and will I die or pass out within 20 minutes? (I'm 44 kilos).

That is a horrible idea, and it will no cause you to pass out or die within 20 minutes. It would be nearly impossible to consume that much salt. Keeping it down even more so.

I've done some research on this method lately as well, as well as trying just a tablespoon of pure salt the other night, just one tablespoon and I was in bed and ready to throw up within minutes of ingesting it..

I didn't throw up but I can tell you it did do a little damage to my body from what I felt like..

I was instantly dehydrated feeling.

I read of people drinking liters of soy sauce and being near death and I think sodium poisoning is a real thing in high enough quantities

When I was very sick at one point my life - I suspected I was suffering from food poisoning - I took two entire table spoons with water and puked my heart out.
It was one way of the most unpleasant feelings ever (burning throat and stomach) and the reason why I don't feel too happy to have to ingest SN (at some point) which might cause the same reaction in me.
So nausea is damn near guaranteed with these amounts of salt.

You'll likely vomit it all up and survive, this is not a good method.

Large amounts of salt will cause acute renal failure and then prolong your existence because the hospital will try to detox you from salt intake. You will not die in 40 mins. SN is effective not because of the salt, but because of the nitrite compound. Same goes for Sodium Azide or any Sodium (X) solution. You'll end up surviving with long term kidney, bladder damage and have to piss through a catheter for the rest of your life. Would not recommend.
