Is there any difference between the ideal rope for full and partial suspension? I know the one for partial should be rather thin (but strong), would a thicker one for full make it a bit less painful or does it not work like that?
Thank you for any suggestions

Make sure the rope for full doesn't give any slack/stretching when you pull it. That's risky because it could snap. And also for full wrap a t-shirt or cloth around your neck so you don't get pain from rope burn. As for partial I've seen plenty of people ctb with scarfs/belts so it's up to you there. Check out the threads on here for hanging. There's so much info on this I wouldn't know where to start. But plenty of threads on how to. Good luck, just don't give up on researching here

Good question! I too wish to know the ideal rope for both methods.

For partial suspension I would use a thinner rope (depends on weight, maybe 6,8,10mm), for full suspension 10-16mm, depends on your weight/height.

If you are very thin you should use a thinner rope, if you are fat you should use a thicker rope

If you are not too small you should use about 8mm for partial, 10-12mm for full suspension

For complete hanging the rope must be more solid. Nothing more, i think.
