Not really war deaths so much. I think soldiers are very brave certainly. I think to sacrifice their life for their country is very noble. I can't help but suspect many of our leaders are corrupt or psychopathic though. What did they end up dying for ultimately? Because some psychopath somewhere decided they deserved more land or resources and they were told to either take it or, defend it? It just seems such a waste to ultimately make other arseholes richer.
Plus, there's the whole other monetry side to things. I have no doubt the whole military machine- armies, artilary, vehicles, equipment generates a huge amount of money for more rich arseholes. They need the threat of war to be real in order to justify the creation and purchase of all these weapons, the training of all these soldiers. So- how many wars are 'created' simply to keep the industry running? In which case- should their deaths really be celebrated or seen as a tragic waste?
But suicide? Again, it kind of depends really. Certain suicides I tend to romanticize in my mind. Others seem tragic. Others incredibly shocking. Some, I even have mixed feelings about. Maybe I need to romanticize it in order to persuade myself to do it. I've wondered that before.
