I hate that we are living in times people are fighting over religion etc. How extremism fuels more extremism. Why can't we get along and make our choices, be respected for the consequences we shall face.

I personally have a deep hate for the right wing, because of how eerily similar it is, having grown up with narcissistic parents. All the excuses, blame shifting and control. I think if it can stunt an individual it can stunt countries lagging their growth, or at least the intellectual growth. And the whole feeling of not being able to escape since you are still stuck in this system which doesn't hear or empathize with you

Whether its the left or the right, they're both manipulate and are built to favour those who are already fortunate, at least in the left they are more performative about the rights of the proletariats

I'm not an expert in history, but pretty sure it's always been this way. I hate the manipulation and division all around left and right. I'm agreeing with you. And you hit the nail on the head about narcissistic parents.

Ah, yes, because advocating for policies that hurt LGBTQ+ people (especially trans people), POC, and women screams "tolerant and compassionate". All of my interactions with right-wingers have generally been negative and I've seen many go out of their way to defend the most deplorable shit out there. Hell, recently a white woman called a little disabled black boy the N word, and there are a bunch of right-wingers trying to defend her and make the situation out to be not as bad as it is. They are even donating a shit-ton of money to her.

I've been in right-wing spaces before. There was a point in my life where I used to engage in a lot of that sort of content, and a lot of it was incredibly hateful and intolerant. Don't come on here trying to tell people that right-wingers aren't incredibly intolerant and hateful.

I've seen more people in the last year ctb because of politics then I've ever seen in my entire life.

Trans people such as myself are scared, people who are immigrants ,and literally anyone who didn't vote for Trump are scared out of their minds.
I'm planning on leaving the United States soon and I don't ever see myself coming back because of all the irreversible damage this lunatic is doing to the country.
If you support him then more power to you but as for me I can't stand the prick and I can't stand the politics

Yeah the lord of the rings helped with immigration a lot to the country when the films released.
It was one of the biggest economic factors in the early 2000s .

My theory is politics is all a scam and a distraction, designed to keep us little people running around in circles in various states of hate, fear, unhinged outrage, and confusion. I looked in to leaving the US long before a NY real-estate developer / reality TV show host, got in to the White House, and was shocked at how difficult it is for an older American to permanently move to a quieter more stable country. All the nice countries will only take me on something like a "permanently temporary" basis, which isn't that great. Anyway, best of luck to you.

Thats my experience as well.
Can you elaborate? What other sites, news, groups do you follow? I'd love to take a look at them.

I understand that somebody might be disgusted by various things, such as religion, gay sex, trans people, feel uncomfortable around people different than them. I'd love to live in a world where people get along or at least ignore each other if they have nothing in common. Why would I care if, for example, an SN seller or bread baker or any other person is gay or christian? It doesn't bother me at all. There are terrible straight people, there are terrible gay people. There are terrible atheists and religious people.

If we talk whether gay people should be able, I have not enough information. I personally would rather have two dads than stay in a orphanage. I would prefer a mom and dad, but if that isn't possible and somebody can provide be a better life, that's awesome. Political decisions should not be based on feelings and emotion, but on actual data to make the world a better place overall. I'll gladly discuss any topic with anybody. Unfortunately there are many bad actors and bad faith people everywhere.

There are extremes in both left and right, but from what I've experienced there is clearly more hatred in right.

It doesn't help that the current right wing goverment in USA threatens to annex Canada and Greenland and does not rule out military force, at least in the latter case. How can anybody support that, cheer that on?

Follow the money. For all of the right-wing's constant crying about Soros-money, and the "Deep-State", they quickly went quiet when it came to Musk-Money and the Heritage Foundation's entrenchement of the state. It was never about "draining the swamp", they were just mad they weren't the swamp. Now we're seeing the harvest of decades of right-wing financial and political interest since they've successfully cleared a path to smash the last remaining barriers keeping them from a de facto dictatorship.

I have my issues with the left as well, but the equivocation a lot of "centrists" are pulling don't hold water when the largest complaint I kept seeing out of the right was "ooga booga pronouns and migrants". Sure, I found it easier to speak more "freely" around the right in the sense that I could say the n-word, f-word, r-word, and the like, but they quickly become snowflakes for daring to make a distinction between sex and gender, or pointing out that migrants are less criminal than citizens, or that the economy is always stronger under a Democrat.

Obivously, this doesn't mean that the Left's shit doesn't stink either, and indeed alot of the cultural pushback we're seeing is partly due to how insufferable they've been over the last decade, but the pendulum swing back to the right has been a complete disaster. Even when I was further right-wing (I still have some "leanings"), I found the right to be the largest group of pansies imaginable, and most of my criticisms of the left then still turn out to apply today. All in all, the left was annoying as hell, but the right is completely insane.

It does not matter what somebody (you, me, left, right) thinks, decisions should be based on data and facts, instead of feelings.

It's not my job to solve this, we should have competent politicians doing this. I don't have or check all the information, I don't have the time. If you paid for it (vote me in, but I'm not a politician), I'd gladly do it.

My understanding of immigrants is that often they are looking for a better life than they had, they can do jobs that others don't want to do. More people means less pay and harder to get a job, and doesn't help the houses crisis. But these people come in search of a better life than they had, because of cartels, wars or something else. Can you blame them? I'm sure they try their best and still end up being hated. Some of them fail to accomodate in the new place and might resort to crime for survival. That is not their first choice and still better than to go back to a war torn country or whatever their reason was.

You could say that they should stay in their country and fix the problems. Good point. But they didn't cause the problems, they were born into a system rules by mafias, intimidation, seen death, anybody and their loved ones are punished (beaten, imprisoned, killed) if they try to fix that. I understand that not everybody has the stomach to do that. We should prevent things like this from happening in the first place, fixing them is much more expensive and difficult, you cannot allow dictatorships to rise, you cannot allow too much power in a small amount of people. This can happen anywhere.

I'll leave it here.

All I'm doing is posting on a forum. If that's enough to set you off, please step away conversation and find something else that won't trigger you this badly. Points for honesty, but Jester never said anything about being "physically challenged". They said "disabled", which according to some sources, there are claims the child was autistic, which is a disability. The only source I can find about your claim (which you've now deleted) that the man was a pedophile, is from Matt Walsh (a known liar), and he cites no court documents.

Nah fam, I'm not letting you just fly in, wild out, and then run away like nothing happened. Thanks to you, I had to look into this case more, and the only thing I can find as to why her fundraiser got so much support was because it was a right-wing response to the Karmelo Anthony case (which the screenshot you posted earlier claimed, and is also now deleted). This kinda proves Jester's point that the right-wing is insane and will back people who don't really deserve it. As for doxing and death threat claims, receipts or it didn't happen.

I love political threads.
Anyways rightwing people, generally less mob mentality. Rightwing policies r generally regressive and end up taking away rights.
Left wing people, can be an annoying hivemind, but generally has more beneficial policies.

The most egregious thing imo is how trans people r politicised, I don't want to be something to be argued over, just let me live my life 😭

Yes but some people are gonna be hateful with or without the politics anyways , politics gives them an edge to use against other groups they don't deem correct. It comes back to what you said really, but it's just so funny to see that most humans have this capability to become so hateful because of one minor thing about one another/

I am actually. It's insane like i don't even owe the right wing or the left wing anything. Why do i even step into these things. Your behavior does sort of trigger me to be me but i'd feel real tired after that. Let's not fight, i raised a genuine concern that the post above had misinformation. The kid wasn't physically challenged, there's video proof of that. The girl is able to raise money because she was getting death threats and had been doxxed. I do want to exhale some rage right now though. The account could get banned if you report it. Have too many memories, vents on this account that i can't risk it. so wouldn't be like that.
