Ok so nobody misinterprets my intentions I'll simplify this thread and be as emotionless as possible.
Has anyone ever had to struggle between CTB and inflicting pain on those who do care. It's not being pro-life, its struggling with the conflict?
Maybe I struggle because I don't want to inflict any more pain on my family then I already have by simply existing.

Anyone who has people they care about will go through this struggle, and weigh up which is more important, the feelings of others, or the needs of the individual.

I weigh it up like this. I might upset someone, and that upset might last a year, but the heart heals, whereas my suffering could last fifty years.

I personally thought there was nothing wrong with your previous post, and was replying as so when it got deleted. If someone can't stand to have their motives questioned, they obviously haven't given it enough thought.

I deleted because I was a accused of, I'm not sure to be honest, simply because I made edits to my thread. But being accused of making up what I said about my mom was uncalled for.

Try not to take it personally dude. Probably just others' paranoia

I make edits all the time. It's good to have a concise message on record

After awhile you become so used to people saying bad things to you that you sometimes build up a resistance to it.

Not just 'anyone', I'd say almost everyone here struggles with that decision. At least everyone who has people who do care.

That's an everyydayy struggle mann!! I just want them to understand, accept and maybe respect my decision. If not this then I want them to not blame themselves at least.

I get why you deleted it, but the edited OP of the other thread gave a clear picture that helps to address your questioning. Please, I'm not trying to dredge anything up, but to reference what you said.

You said that your mother has had a variety of severe and long-term health issues, most recently surgery for a broken femur (?) and, as I recall that you are concerned she will not be able to survive your suicide.

I responded there and will try to respond the same here.

I take the example of the Stoic philosopher Seneca. He, like many Stoics, was a proponent of rational suicide under certain conditions, which I've discussed elsewhere on the forum (if interested, go to my profile and see threads I've started, the one I'm referencing has Stoic in the title and one of the comments lists the reasons). But he was also a proponent of the Stoic ethic of responsibility to others. He rationally wanted to suicide (and eventually did by political force), but he refrained because of his responsibilities to, I believe, his family.

I think one can bear much when they have a reason to bear it. Once it becomes impossible to continue to bear, the balance shifts from acting for the benefit of others to the outright need to act for the benefit of oneself.

Fair enough sometimes my emotions get the better of me

Just forget it, I won't talk about anything like that from this point forward ok?
