I see a lot of people express fear from SI and/or shame from stigma and I think we all need this reminder. Every human being dies and choosing when we go isn't some massively impactful decision. It's not like the alternative is immortality FWIW. I'm not trying to undermine anyone's fears; humans are naturally built to fear death. Rather I'm suggesting that this fear does not hold authority over us, because the fact is we all die.

Death truly is all that's inevitable and personally I'd prefer to cease existing sooner to prevent unnecessary suffering in this existence I always saw as so futile anyway. I'd always prefer to not exist as after all if I'm dead then I cannot suffer in any way and all is finally forgotten about for me, the thought of prolonging the suffering for way longer just to be tormented by old age is horrific to me personally, I find it terrifying how a human can exist for so long.

This is so true! We all die in the end, so does it really matter if we die earlier or later? We might miss a few opportunities, but are they gonna change something? Average humans live for 80 years, so one moment in most cases won't change your whole life.

Exactly! So few people realize this. A study showed that about 80% of people dying "of old age" are NOT going peacefully. It's often a long protracted process. And usually old people are medicated to make the death process easier. So there is ALREADY assisted dying. Nature doesn't just run its course. So why can some of us who already feel dead not get help to speed up the inevitable if we want to?

This fact is why I cannot get ctb out of my mind. Since I don't have anything important or exciting every morning to wake up to, except pain and trying to find ways of killing pain, I might as well go to the grave now than later.

Exactly, non-suicidal people react to suicide as if the person would never have died if it weren't for CTB. We're all going to die, what difference does it make if I miss 50-60 pointless years just to die in the end anyway

It's a clue to the level of brainwashing we are living in that this has to be said . . most humans should clearly understand that the suicidal are only choosing when to die not to die because we all will die anyway. it should clearly understood by most because the fact that we are all going to die anyway is one of the most fundamental facts .

it's logical to think and act from first principles. first principles are things that you know are true. to me that is one that Death is certain for all . another is that extreme suffering and unbearable pain are bad and should be avoided at all costs. these things i know are true. however I don't see much else objectively important valuable or good. but they tell us constantly all these garbage addictions are objectively good , important or valuable . they are not . these are not objective truths that these garbage addcions are good meaningfull important valuable . life is meaningless. then you add we all will die anyway . and add to that extreme suffereing and uberable pain are very bad. then you see what is logical to get out of this hell asap . of course there is much more and i have 1000 other reasons why i want to suicide but i'm just touching on this .

Nature wants us to reproduce, grew up our children and to disappear when our bilogical mission is accomplished. We can avoid the first two tasks but not the last one. So only suicide at old age is in accordance with nature.

Also, people regularly change and deteriorate the older they get. So, usually it's 80 years of gradual decline. But that's surprisingly a positive, the idea of immortality is despairful.

Death is the only real thing. 100 years after we die, no one will remember us. We will be gone as if we never existed. We came from nothing, experienced futility and returned to nothing. Life is like a bad dream of eternal sleep. There is no difference between ending it now and waiting for natural death.

Our primate ancestors increased awareness to gain an advantage over their competitors. This increased awareness of pain. Our bodies have become prisons. Now billions of people are enslaved all their lives to pay for the welfare of a few elite families they have never met. I believe that life in this world is not inherently suitable for experiencing with high awareness.

I will also add: eventually the sun will run out of fuel and everything humans have ever done will be wiped out. So the fear of how we'll be perceived does too have a limit. There will come a time when no living thing can recall who we were. It does not matter if we checked out while young or lived to die at 90 in our bed. It was all futile, ultimately, and those who avoid CTB'ing aren't any better than us in the end.
