Remembrance Wall

Is there any way of having a wall for those that passed? A tribute to them? Perhaps something that only the admins have access to add to

Thats very true so some criteria would have to be used. Was thinking like Natalia tonight or FordPrefect recently where we saw their journey.

maybe, if a wall like this does end up being made, we could make it so only those who have made a goodbye thread here are on this wall?

that way, there are (almost) no possibility of accidently adding people who are still alive (since they wouldn't make a thread), and those who for some reason don't wish to be added just have to not make a thread/specify it in their message.

Yeah..it sounds like a interesting idea.

But, that way.. there will be a clear record of number of people who ctb with the help of this site (but that number will be far less when compared to actual deaths..coz as stated above..all deaths can't be confirmed). But eventually..that number will increase a lot.

I think..this attracts more unwanted attention.. and will become another reason to blame this place. I don't think this can be a good idea in the long run.

That's a good point which I didn't think about. The integrity of the site is paramount

Yeah I think security is more important than everything else. Everybody has their personal remembrance wall for those they strongly connected here, anyway.

Without an obituary proving it its ripe for drama. Look at the current happenings for an example.

I think the "User Discussion Megathread" is more than good enough. If somebody really wants to be remembered on here they can have someone post their obituary on the "User Discussion Megathread"

The problem is, without an obit, nobody can be sure an actual ctb took place.
I believe most people here are genuine, but there are a few schemers who want to stage their death,
so they can watch the reaction of others, get praise, ego boost, or whatever their sick mind intentions.
I know of only a handful of actual obits which were confirmed by other members.

What I have done for a member who i was very close to, i post funeral flowers and a tribute on her personal profile wall.

I agree. People with who you share everything honestly and share suffering stay in your heart forever. I am happy to meet them in the other side.
