From what I've read from the documented SN goodbye threads. the SN process seems consistent.

Tachycardia sets in fast, vomiting also happens fast, usually 10 minutes +/- after ingestion. Many times after this point it's unclear if the person takes the second cup, appears often they don't. Semi-consciousness sets in, less responsive communication, labored breathing. Around 20 minutes in the person is seemingly unconscious while making strange breathing and/or moaning noises and then they fade out around 40-60 minutes from initial ingestion. These are just guesstimates from reading a number of these threads and noticing patterns. I have never read any report of someone crying out in agony during their SN ctb.

I doubt this is a healthy thing to do so I'm not recommending this. A while back, I mixed up some salt in lukewarm water (without taking an AE) & downed it like a shot. To get an idea of the taste & the experience. To help prepare mentally. But just salty water made me groan quite a bit & feel retchy for ages - I think if someone was listening to me, they'd assume I was in pain, when it was just discomfort. I think that's extremely reassuring. And knowing laboured breathing is a part of most deaths - maybe some people here haven't had the life experience to see someone die??? What if the sounds we hear are entirely reasonable to expect & nothing to be feared? I was not at all scared by any of the recent GBT's. Or by watching people die in real life in hospitals - I think if I just listened to a sound recording of them dying I would be traumatised. But with the whole picture, even though their breathing was not at all normal & sounded awful, their faces remained peaceful at all times & I felt no distress for them or worried they were in pain - the doctors wouldn't have allowed that so I know peaceful humane hospital deaths can sound bad, but aren't.
And SN is a humane way to kill pigs - that's how it started in Australia. The pigs have the SN, get woozy & fall asleep.
Hopefully you are getting the reassurance you need from your research or you decide to switch methods if SN is still not right for you or you switch gears & aim for recovery. No method is perfect.

No, not in the slightest. It's something that some users have done to get an idea of what the experience may be like on (basically a micro) scale.

Me groaning & semi-retching afterwards, just from salt water. I was completely fine but I sounded like I was not fine.
Would someone hear this is if you were upstairs and they were downstairs? Was it super loud? Or could you control it?

Idk what it's like having shallow breathing, but some time ago i had a cramp in my abdominal muscles and it hurt a lot, and lasted for a while. Much worse than regular muscle cramping. I don't ever think about it, it was a short moment of pain. But if someone had told me it was gonna happen like months before, i probably would have felt even worse.

I'm so sorry don't know the connection though for sn? Could you elaborate?

Although I missed the exact moment of this death, I watched my dad dying at the age of 86. He had Alzheimer's then fell and broke his hip. Surgery/rehab was not an option and he had a medical directive written long before he lost his memory stating "no intervention." I stayed with him for 4 days while he was attended by nurses, given no food or water, and just increasing doses of morphine (hospice). That last hour breathing is normal when the body shuts down. Folks I know and trust watched one of their loved ones exit via SN. It's that same breathing at the end. It's not painful. Look up "Death Rattle."

Remember surviving the pain from falling off a bicycle or getting your finger slammed in a car door or hitting your head on a cabinet or fracturing/breaking a bone? We've all experienced short term pain/throbbing that dissipates in 30 minutes to 1 hour. Diarreah, food poisoning, menstrual cramps or giving birth come to mind as extended periods of pain.

Agonal breathing can be really loud (death rattle).
The vomiting can be really loud as well. The body is trying desperately to rid itself of toxicity.🌹💔
