Story Rambling on

You told me you loved me, time after time,
I stupidly thought, that you'd always be mine,

The signs they were there, you often told me,
I was deaf, I was dumb, I was too blind to see,

When push came to shove, and you left me that day,
I was lost, I was drowned, I forced you away,

Then when I heard, those words from my son,
Letting me know, about your new one,

My mind it imploded, with sadness and grief,
I hung from the bottle, inviting release,

I lay in the gutter, wasted and broke,
My mind descending, becoming a joke,

Your plan was fallacious, it didn't pull through,
He wasn't me, as well you knew,

I ran and I ran, as far as I could,
Trying to forget, all that was good,

I made a new friend, in a place far away,
I settled in, and decided to stay,

Then came the calls, you wanted me back,
Your life it had crashed, came off the track,

I thought I'd return, to warmth of your bed,
But it was too late, the feeling was dead,

The lies that you told, they tore me apart,
I accepted my fate, it was doomed from the start.
