Has anyone had a successful attempt by poisoning themselves with cyanide via apple seeds and cherry pits?
Apricot pits have higher concentration of the chemical your body converts to cyanideHas anyone had a successful attempt by poisoning themselves with cyanide via apple seeds and cherry pits?
The hearsay that cyanide poisoning is painful seems to be fact around here. In every suicide book I've read, the accounts vary a lot -- just like with SN, and that method is heralded as the "golden ticket", the "poor man's Nembutal". It annoys me greatly.Cyanide is tricky and painful way to ctb, beside thinking about getting cynide from any sort of fruits/seeds is useless.
Like i said the tricky nature of the method might cause pain, reading about botched executions by HCN indicates the painful nature, beside there's no accurate available data about whether cyanide give peaceful death or not. Moreover, personally i never believed in the peacefulness of SN at all. Both SN and CN are blood agents, so i assume their fatal physical syndromes are the same. The hearsay that cyanide poisoning is painful seems to be fact around here. Cyanide is painful but it kills you within like a minute or 2 and has a 99% success rate, that is if the cyanide is pure enough. So if you are willing get pure cyanide and to take the pain for however long it takes to kill you then I would say it's a good method.Cyanide is tricky and painful way to ctb, beside thinking about getting cynide from any sort of fruits/seeds is useless.
Is there a better way to get it than the methods above? Because making it myself sounds very difficultCyanide is painful but it kills you within like a minute or 2 and has a 99% success rate, that is if the cyanide is pure enough. If you managed to get potassium cyanide, there is nothing tricky at all after that. About a gram of that into water, stir, wait for a few minutes, no going back. Getting the cyanide is the hard part.Like i said the tricky nature of the method might cause pain, reading about botched executions by HCN indicates the painful nature, beside there's no accurate available data about whether cyanide give peaceful death or not. Might be painful and might not be. Really, any pain won't matter as you won't be around to remember it and there's really no going back after you take the cyanide. Cyanide just might be one of the best methods available in terms of ease of use and reliability, just getting the cyanide might be difficult.Cyanide is painful but it kills you within like a minute or 2 and has a 99% success rate, that is if the cyanide is pure enough. Here Cody makes a mash with cherry pits and adds sulphuric acid. Then he heats it and hydrogen cyanide gas boils over, and also benzaldehyde. He distills it and pours the condensate over solid sodium hydroxide, making sodium cyanide mixed with benzaldehyde. Benzaldehyde boils at 178 C, it could be possible to boil it off while leaving solid cyanide.
Its nearly impossible to upload videos here, so ill just link it to youtube.
Just the sound of cyanide poisoning sounds like such a cool way to go as how rare it is. Might have to deep web it.That method is NOT recommended at homes at all, it requires good experience at chemistry. Chemists call such reactions (DIRTY), strong acid like sulfuric, caustic substance like NaOH, flammable solvent Benzaldehyde, then add all that to the highly toxic HCN. With that reaction you do not need to take any cyanides, just run it and you gonna ctb.
Yes, but where do you buy the cyanide? Here's a chart of the lethality of cyanide poisoning along with other suicide methods and the agony level of each. Cyanide looks pretty painful to me, but effective.

And here's a lot of info on cyanide poisoning. Hope it helps.
Aren't those just estimates? I guess the only ones who really know are the ones that tried it, and they didn't live to tell the tale! Here's a chart of the lethality of cyanide poisoning along with other suicide methods and the agony level of each. Cyanide looks pretty painful to me, but effective.

According to Wikipedia, it is used as pesticide in New Zealand. Anyone in NZ want to check this out? Would probably get stopped by customs. It's used in jewelry-making and photography. If you have access to a laboratory (in a university for example) or a chemist friend, that could be an option.Yes, but where do you buy the cyanide?

@Heart of Ice - lol you know, I've always wondered myself how these kinds of charts were so accurate unless ghosts made them up. I guess they go by what survivers tell them? Or watching how long it takes a guinea pig to die after taking cyanide. Who knows.Aren't those just estimates? I've read apple seeds have cyanide in them, and a cupful would be fatal. Not sure if that's exactly true, and besides that, who's going to eat that many apples?Yes, but where do you buy the cyanide?
I'm blown away that you know all this! Holy shit. Are you a chemist or was google your friendApple seeds (or cherry pits, almonds, etc) dont have cyanide. They have a chemical called amygdalin that is broken down by enzimes in your gut to release cyanide. I suspect it is impossible to die by ingesting amygdalin no matter how high the dose because as soon as some cyanide is produced the body might respond by stopping digestion and forcing you to vomit or have explosive diarrhea to get that poison out of your gut.
To die by cyanide you have to ingest actual cyanide. Its possible to turn amygdalin from almonds into cyanide salts and purify them. Probably by crushing the seeds and washing them in sodium hydroxide. The hydroxide will break down the amygdalin into cyanide plus an oil called "benzaldehyde", which is sold commercially as almond flavoring. The people that produce this oil would add iron sulphate to the liquid, which binds to the cyanide and turn it into a pigment called "prussian blue", which is not soluble and precipitates as a solid to the bottom of the container. Thus you are left with a watery mix of hydroxide and oil. The hydroxide is probably neutralized by adding bicarbonate and the liquid is finally distilled for the oil (benzaldehyde).
Its theoretically possible to scoop up the prussian blue "leftovers" and toss them in sulphuric acid, which would release hydrogen cyanide in gas form. If you bubble this gas through a (saturated?) solution of sodium hydroxide in ethanol it will become sodium cyanide, and precipitate as solid cyanide crystals.
I heard its also possible to cook prussian blue with solid sodium hydroxide. By heating the mixture the prussian blue should release cyanide gas, which ought to combine with the hydroxide and produce a rock of solid cyanide/hydroxide. You could dissolve this rock in ethanol and add some bicarbonate to neutralize the hydroxide into carbonate, which is not soluble in ethanol and will sink as a solid. The leftover liquid should be a pure solution of sodium cyanide in ethanol, which you can evaporate to yield the pure salt. It should still be easy to buy prussian blue powders, because it is not a poison and is used as a pigment, mixed with oil. But you know how it goes with chemical bans.
Its also possible to synthesize and purify cyanide from semi-common household chemicals. For instance cook urea (which you can make from urine), charcoal and hydroxide at a high temperature will produce a hard, fused rock which you can dissolve in ethanol. Add bicarbonate to neutralize the hydroxide, filter all solids and evaporate the ethanol. What remains should be fairly pure sodium cyanide.
Some care must be taken when handling sodium cyanide. If dissolved in water it tends to spontaneously break down into cyanide gas, which slowly leaves the water and makes it look like "sparkling water". It leaves behind sodium hydroxide. Cyanide also likes to react with atmospheric CO2 and become sodium carbionate. It also likes to react with oxygen and turn into sodium cyanate (not same as cyanide). So, you have to store it dry and sealed, with no contact with air.
I've taken ricin before which is somewhat like cyanide and I have to say not only did I barely scrape by at living it destroyed my gastrointestinal track to this day. I had blood coming out of every possible place it could. Extremely painful and I unluckily failed. Just not worth the pain and possible failure. It's pretty bad and I have a high tolerance for pain. Was unfortunately in the hospital for months. There are less painful and reliable methods for sure.Has anyone had a successful attempt by poisoning themselves with cyanide via apple seeds and cherry pits?

It wasn't fun, I will tell you that much. Was trying to find a 100% method not caring about the pain and suffering it could cause. Ended up not only in pain but still living...@Dazedandconfused32 gone wrong with ricin, barely to belive?!

I should also say I took abrin seeds. And I took a lot. I just feel there's too much room for error. It's somewhat like cyanide. Abrus or Abrin is what I took. I purchased the seeds and blended them into somewhat of a shake and drank it. Awful taste and hard not to throw up. Abrin is said to be one of the most deadly toxins there is. It's 6,000 more toxic than ricin.
What happened!!!???I should also say I took abrin seeds. And I took a lot. I just feel there's too much room for error. Best of luck
I took it and fell unconscious at some point. My ex found me I guess, not sure of the exact details because I was in the ICU intubated for quite some time. It's all a blur honestly. Probably best that way. I wouldn't recommend trying it at all. I was told I was screaming in pain because apparently it tears the lining of your stomach and all. No buenoWhat happened!!!???
