Venting Psychiatrist and Therapist think I’m demon possessed lmao

So, after being in a MH after a failed attempt I made a promise to myself, to try in therapy for a couple months and if shit isn't getting better I'm gonna CTB. Monday I saw a psychiatrist and after explaining my situation and my thoughts on death and suicide he started saying "I hope and pray that this stronghold of oppression is lifted from you" and me being a former super Christian (not anymore, not interested in living forever lol) knew he was thinking that my problem. Didn't really think much of it because regardless of that he did his job and gave me new medicine.

But then my FUCKING THERAPIST spent the entire HOUR trying to prove that I was never really a Christian and that me not believing in God was irrational and the cause of my problems (not even a Christian counseling place.) He came to the conclusion that because I didn't bind a demon when performing an exorcism (I know) that I must've contracted a demon because I am a "big target for the devil." He then told me that I won't do it (hahaha) and he knows I've already attempted.

I'm frustrated because I went in there to get help. Everyone tells me life is worth living and I'm not actively suicidal at the moment but it upsets me that this is what I have to deal with. If I had a gun I would probably have shot myself in front of him after he said I wouldn't do it.

That is amazing. At the end of the day these are just jobs. Idiots can sign up to do them like any other.

OMG, that is terrible. The longer I am alive the more I dislike people as a whole. I'm really sorry that happened to you -- I know JUST how it feels to not be taken seriously and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

This is why you try to find secular therapists if you can. Last thing someone needs when going through a crisis is some religious whack job trying to perform an exorcism.

jesus christ, that's insane. reminds me of the time i was put in some wackass spiritual therapy one time and while 'they' did a whole prayer around me to "cleanse my soul", they had to bring the pastor in because apparently something was "holding me down" since i was not responding to their prayers. after that they then told me that all of my problems (including my depression) should've been solved now...and that was the only appointment i've ever had with that therapist. really sorry that's happened to you, because goodness that's really messed up :/
