There is a lot of information to consider taking Propranolol the PPeH recommend 800mg of Propranolol mixed with SN but I still question the quantity, it has been reduced twice from 2g to 1g and now 800mg and the only benefits I can find are the two listed below, 800mg is not an overdose, I am counting on the SN to CTB not the Propranolol. A 27-year old female weighing 60kg presents to ED approximately one hour after swallowing 70 x 40mg Propranolol tablets (= 2.8 grams) with suicidal intent. At the time of assessment she is drowsy (GCS 13) with a heart rate of 46 bpm and BP 100/60. Fifteen minutes earlier she had been awake and able to give a history to paramedics. ECG shows sinus bradycardia of 45 bpm with PR interval 210ms, QRS duration 115ms, QT interval 380ms and a small R wave in aVR of approximately 2mm in height, so it might just be beneficial to take another lower 40mg of Propranolol mixed with the SN as a lower dose means a lower chance of vomiting.
1, It prevents tachycardia, the heart racing and beating fast.
2, When the brain receives a message there is insufficient oxygen, a message is sent to the heart to increase blood flow which is blocked

I dissolved one 40mg tablet in chilled water to make sure it was immediate release, it took 10 minutes to dissolve and I kept stirring it, the lower dosages are immediate release and the 80mg capsules are slow release but you will see SR on the box for slow release.
Antacids with aluminum hydroxide make Propranolol less effective, aluminum hydroxide antacids are usually sold OTC.
Taking Cimetidine increases the levels of Propranolol in the blood
Taking Ibuprofen may decrease the blood pressure-lowering effects of Propranolol .
Taking a lower dose is more effective than taking a high dose.
All the information is linked below, there are lot's more interactions not recommended with Propranolol but don't apply to me so it's best to read them yourself.
