Most people would never admit it. A German leftwing comedian admitted it and rightwingers want to cancel him now. I am undecided. I think most people would never admit it if the answer was yes. Here is a poll the vote is not shown publicly. Maybe the shooter even was a Republican.

I will put the people into different groups. US-Democrat means you are voter of the DNC. I wonder how many polls like that are currently going on the internet. SaSu polling seemingly also goes with controversial questions.

I could imagine an even crazier candidate would have replaced Trump. Tommorrow his VP will be revealed.
The comedian joked he loves it when fascists die. In a German TV show someone compared Trump with Hitler and it is better to get rid of him despite the fact it might be morally questionable. However, violence will make everything worse. Maybe.

I don't feel very negative emotions towards Trump, so I wouldn't be happy if he died.

I can be happy when someone I really dislike/hate gets hurt, but as I mentioned above, Trump is not one of those people.

I don't like Trump, but I don't hate him.

I also do not think that he is the antichrist who will destroy everything and everyone. No sense.

Such situations only show how divided society is.

I don't particularly want to get a call from the Secret Service, but God yes. It would take away the worry of what trump's going to do in a second term. Unfortunately as things stand now this just gave him more fodder for his campaign. "Look at me, nothing can hurt me." Ugh.

My heart says yes but my brain says no (which was my vote). I won't pretend to care about a truly irredeemable scumbag, but I don't want it to happen that way. Political violence only makes things worse, and US democracy is fragile enough as it is. I'm all for jokes about it though.

I wouldn't but I wouldn't have been that broken up over it either even though I plan to vote for him. I'm way more happier that he did survive in the way that he did and that an otherwise uninteresting day became more interesting. I think if he really had died I would have probably voted for Biden because no other Republican candidate has the sauce that Trump has and at least Biden is still pretty funny just not as much so.

Wow, there are a lot of people here who voted they would have been happy if Trump had died. That shows the uncaring nature of today's lefty extremists.

I am no fan of populist leaders. But populist leaders have only appeared in recent years because our left wing political parties have ceased to look after the people they once cared for, namely the working classes. The left used to be more socialist, looking after the working man, but now the left only care about such groups as the transgender. We no longer discuss issues such as poverty, only debate whether a woman can have a penis.

So the working classes become desperate, and cling on to the words of these populists, because the left abandoned the working man.

I wouldn't be happy, but I wouldn't be upset about it either. I don't like him at all and I don't think that the idea of him being killed would cause me to feel any negative emotions, but I wouldn't be acting all joyous about it either. I hate him with every fibre of my being but his death isn't going to magically change all of the shit that is going on right now. His supporters are still likely to be just awful after his death, maybe even more so. The damage he has caused cannot be undone at this point. The Republican party will just find another shitty mouthpiece that will appeal to the right-wing evangelical demographic and will continue with heinous plans.
our left wing political parties
Your country doesn't have any major left-wing parties, lol.
The left used to be more socialist, looking after the working man, but now the left only care about such groups as the transgender. We no longer discuss issues such as poverty, only debate whether a woman can have a penis.
Also, please take your weird transphobic rhetoric elsewhere. Maybe onto a site whose admin isn't trans and that doesn't have a large trans user base?

Electoral politics in the US is fucked and has been fucked for a long time, I honestly can't say whether it's better or worse now. At least not that much ultimately changed, Trump already had November in the bag even before this happened (turns out being pro-genocide doesn't bode well with young progressives), but maybe the death of Trump would have slowed the Republicans a bit. He is the ultimate unifying factor, and the ensuing power struggle would have likely caused quite some issues for the Republican campaign.

when trump gets shot: this is a tragedy!!! how could they do this!! violence is never the answer!!!

meanwhile american involvement in the global south b like: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_involvement_in_regime_change

violence and crime are only acceptable when the victims don't look like you, i suppose? if anything, i'm disappointed this wasn't an organized revolution. i just keep looking over at americans, wondering when they'll finally decide enough is enough, not just with biden or with trump but with capitalism as a whole. a hospital bill shouldn't cause people to end up on the streets. absolutely ludicrous.

to be honest i don't want him to die, i want him in jail and for the two party system (who would replace trump if he died? i doubt itd be anyone much better) to be done with. i guess its corny and useless and stupid to say but there needs to be an effort on both sides working together to make good differences.

I hated his TV shows, but I live Trump since he got into politics.

If you consider how much he improved the economy and kept down inflation, especially before Covid, it was essentially an economic miracle. The media never reported it as that, but even just making the cost of living affordable saves countless lives.

To be honest I know you say you wouldn't be broken up Up over However I think it would be an incredibly uncomfortable situation all over America. I went grocery shopping And as I was driving I realized almost every intersection would probably be blocked by Republicans holding M4's protesting. That's the best case scenario a few months or weeks of protests.
Even if someone doesn't like Trump I think it's for the best that he survived I'd rather have four more years of Trump to be honest than a few months of Republicans forming militias and marching around highways. There's a lot of ways that can go very badly.
I wish that kid had better aim. Don't like Trump or what he wants for the country. Hmm, maybe tighter border would be best
The kids aim was spot on. At the distance he was at when the kid pulled the trigger it was a lethal shot. Trump moved at the last second. A lot of people say you can train someone to make that shot in about 10 minutes and it's true. Most people can make that shot and he did it's just you can't always predict the way people are going to move unless You're literally a Jedi from Star Wars that can see a few seconds into the future.

i think you might be overestimating how many countries "need something" from the usa compared to how many would benefit from the usa simply not existing.

I would have been really saddened by his death.

So what, he talks a lot of shit and has a big mouth. But, compared to other presidents, this needs to be said, less soldiers have died or have fought in war(s) under his presidency since Ford. This means less PTSD, less combat fatigue and in the end, less suicides and generational trauma due to needless carnage and death. War is hell.

Look at how Biden pulled out of Afghanistan, leaving millions of dollars of USA Army equipment behind, allowing the Taliban to overtake the country once again. Suicide rates of women in Afghanistan have increased dramatically since that happened because their rights have been completely stripped away.

I judge a president by their actions, not by their rhetoric or philosophical views. I don't agree with Trump's rhetoric and philosophical views but he isn't a war monger and in today's world, you DO NOT want a trigger happy president.
Why are non-Americans so emotionally invested in our politics? Weirdos.
Because, it has an impact on the rest of the world. Countries are connected through trade, families, bloodlines, and ancestry, etc,.
