• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I thought it would be interesting to see which generations are represented here on SaSu.

You can also add any thoughts and observations about different generations and impacts on mental health and suicide in the comments.

I was born in 1981 which makes me an old Millenial, but it's on the boundary with Generation X which is a better fit for me in many ways.

My generation benefitted from greatly increasing awareness of mental health, and new forms of treatment. Unfortunately I was born a few years too early to have gotten ADHD and autism diagnoses in childhood when I needed it most.

Being on the cusp of Generation X, I was also exposed to a large number of suicides and early deaths by popular artists. I'm from Seattle where Kurt Cobain killed himself with a shotgun when I was a teenager. The whole city mourned and it impacted me greatly because I loved Nirvana. Jimi Hendrix had also lived nearby, and my school bus took me past his gravesite every day. It left me with a feeling that for someone troubled like me, mental illness and early death would always loom over my head even if I was successful and happy on the surface. That tured out to be so true.
