What drugs could I use to lose consciousness before drowning? Would getting really drunk work. I've never swam before, I just want to negate the panic that comes with it and reduce the possibility of a painful death

If you have never swam before, do you plan to swim into a body of water while drugged? jump into one? I don't know how you'd plan to lose consciousness while trying to drown too. In general drowning experiences are quite awful, and the brain might wake you up too. There was someone here who went deep into the ocean with drugs and alcohol to try to do what you are saying, he did die, but of course couldn't report on if it really worked to lessen the pain and stress. So I can't really recommend that method, sorry you've been brought to consider it, don't know your situation, but I hope it gets easier for you in any way. Big hugs <3

I think you would be better off just finding drugs to go peacefully than trying to drown being drugged up... you don't know when they would hit, how hard, if you would wake up halfway through and be in pain with no way to stop it, or if you would even succeed in the drowning depending on how you're planning to do that. Obvi no method has a 100% success rate, but I think most drugs that would knock you totally unconscious like that without ever waking up mid-way through would probably also be ones you could just use to CBT with outright

I live near docks. Sometimes i read in the local paper how someone drunk stumbled in and died from time to time.

Well I was looking to use a pool, sit by the edge and drink whatever I need to then just fall into the water as I feel my consciousness start to sleep. I don't think its realistic but looking through all the methods I don't have the space or tools to execute. Drowning is painful, heck it might even be the worst 2 minutes of my life , I wish there was another way
Yes and it's mostly just considered as accidentally drowning. From what I've read being drunk reduces protective reflexes and raises chances of a blackout.

if you scroll down here or search for drowning swimming pool, you can see the success rate is rather low, the time can be minutes, and the pain index is kind of high. Every suicide or death is it's own thing, I don't know how some drugs would help with this, or to what extent, but yeah... it seems to be kinda awful, speciallly in comparison to other methods. You really have no other out? If so I'm sorry, I hope you can resist taking this way, being trapped here is awful but I wouldn't wish you any more awfulness on top without assured success either. Big hug to you, I'm sorry <3

Ingested alcohol has slow onset of action, so I guess that you have high chances to start drowning after losing proper control over your body but long before alcohol could induce actual loss of consciousness. The best sedation for drowning would likely need either inhalational or intravenous route of administration, which can be used to render unconsciousness in a matter of 20 - 60 seconds. The following post points to possible options with the inhalational route

Oh, and regarding the table of methods on Lost All Hope... This is my favourite comment about it
