So bit bemused when this arrived today. Was thinking the strap would be wider. Any thoughts?

This looks like a simple lashing strap not a ratchet tie-down. It will be difficult to tighten sufficiently. And I don't see why it would need to be wider.

I did pass out from night-night while I was testing my setup. The strap was loosened before any real damage was done to me by someone I met on here, so I know that it works
Is there anything that clearly made the difference for you when you were practicing? Did you perhaps not need to practice a lot at all?

It was more of a test, and when I decide to CTB I know exactly what to do. The main issue I had was finding the "sweet spot" for thr padding. Other than that, I had no issues whatsoever, not even SI

7BE7F6A7 EA0F 4108 9AD8 D2EE9E2B8913 This is my setup. I have a tea towel between my neck and the ratchet itself. If I tighten it anymore, I know I would CTB

Wait so the ratchet doesn't have to be on the back of your neck? I thought it did. Trying to keep it on the back of my neck and tighten it that way has been making it a lot harder for me. Have I been making it more difficult for myself for no reason?

The pressure is greatest directly opposite side of the neck to the ratchet, but it doesn't have to be at the back. Providing your padding is sufficient and you have the right spot, it will work

Still trying with the ratchet not getting anywhere to be honest. Easy to find the blobs. When I tighten I can just feel them pumping and pressure in my head. Though I can still breathe. Is this normal what do I do next? Or do I need a different tack.

When I have had pressure in my head, I was blocking the jugular veins, not the carotids, so you may not have the right spot

I'll keep trying frustrating as it is. Do you think it's easier led on floor/bed? So is it safe to say literally no pain at all. I was still able to breathe even though I had head pressure. Guessing I was partially blocking the jugulars. Thanks

I did it lying on my couch, and on my bed. I wanted to be comfortable while still conscious.

If you do have the ratchet on the back of your neck, in my opinion it would be easier to do it on a bed

What is it supposed to feel like when i get the right spot? Can you describe it?

When i did it i felt pressure in my head too and my face was all red. So i was doing it wrong?

I'm still at a loss with getting head pressure though I am getting tingling lips which I think from remembering when I did pass out is close

"The characteristic reactions resulting from acute arrest of the circulation in the brain for five to ten seconds were fixation of the eyeballs, blurring of vision, constriction of the visual fields, loss of consciousness and anoxic convulsions."

Your head should not feel like it is exploding. Maybe some moderate pressure cannot be avoided.

Wait what's the difference? Don't know if I have the right thing now

I just tried the night night method and now have the red dots on my face which I think I'm quite proud of in an odd way. I went passed seeing dots. Was still painful and struggled to release the ratchet. Have to go out soon so not sure I want to risk failing again.
