is there anyone on here with bpd and if so, when did you realize you were struggling with it and what symptoms?
the last thing i want to do is self diagnose but sometimes i ask myself if i potentially could be struggling with it, as i have severe mood swings pretty much all the time and start treating other people depending on how i feel even if i never intend to
sometimes i feel like im doing better and lifes just amazing when all of a sudden i have this period of time where i cant get out of bed and i just feel like complete shit and i start making terrible decisions which i end up regretting almost immediately

oh yes youre right, i mixed them up sorry :)
If you're looking for someone with bipolar disorder, I have it. The symptoms started with the first antidepressants, which were prescribed to me, and I got an episode of hypomania. Thats common, i was 24 and I never thought I had it

From what you wrote, it doesn't sound like you have borderline personality disorder (if that is what you meant). Main symptoms would be extreme fear of abandonment and intense emotional dysregulation... There are other symptoms too but they could be attributed to other issues if the main ones are absent

In case of borderline, mood swings tend to last only up to a few days at most as opposed to bipolar which lasts much longer for each phase

Please see a professional if you want a more definite answer. In case of borderline, it wouldn't change much as it doesn't really have a care plan other than therapy. For bipolar, I heard that medication can help so that can lessen your burden a bit

We aren't a place that can diagnose you, sadly. Only undergoing physiciatric inspection will help identify the diagnosis you potentially suffer from.

BD (Bipolar) episodes lasts weeks to months. BPD anywhere from minutes, hours, days. Never longer.

For me I knew there was something wrong with my body and brain but I couldn't understand what. It wasn't until one of the worst periods of my life hit, leading me to see multiple physicists dropping the bomb shell that was BPD.

It was eye opening honestly... Like a light bulb appeared in my head ... All of this shit and pain I had caused others could be explained somehow.

Every case is different. Please reach out to a professional. This is a condition from hell.

thank you :) i didnt include all of my symptoms and seeing a professional is not an option for me atm so i have to kind of find a way of adjusting to it somehow

Yeah I don't know either, I have autism and ADHD that I know off from a good doctor. I was diagonsed with Bipolar 2 and schizoafective and depression but the depression, bipolar 2, schizoafective were at the generic psychiatric hospital and by a misogynist doctor (eastern europe). Depression sure, bipolar 2 and schizoafective, meh, don't think so, he saw me for like 30-50 minutes, heard that I was anhedonic, heard that I didn't really want to do anything with society, prescribed me anti psychotics that made me into a veggie and that's it.

I really really need to get to an actual modern day younger doctor that is not a piece of garbage. Maybe even rethink the ADHD diagnostic as I was on like 3 meds for it and they didn't do crap for me 3-4 years ago. Idk, I'll see.

probably yeah, i feel like 80% of doctors just prescibe and do anything that doesnt really help at all anyways, especially the older ones, they just dont really care at all

One thing I learned about bipolar is that there are other conditions that CAN mimic bipolar (say PTSD or CPTSD) and as a result you can get a misdiagnosis for bipolar. I think a lot of psychiatrists are quick to label people as "bipolar" and as a result ruin a lot of people's lives with meds.

Well like other people said here sole doctor jusnt interview you ones and be like yep your bipolar but both can be misdiagnosed and bpd and bpd and other illnesses can mimic symptoms.

(Please dont take my advice to hear Im NOT a doctor by any means)

Both bpd and bipolar are hell to deal with

But Ilif im correct ypu can take a personality test im not sure- of the name but I jeard is expensive..

But if you trust your psychiatrist and that person doesnt seem to be doing it for cash or have this doc ego then you can ask all the questions you have.

Bpd is not an easy illness to deal with (as all the others)

So can be managed like what well media and doctors DBT and medication. The general stuff
