• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I am certainly not one of them. I shit my opinion on everything. But in the internet age we are all self-proclaimed experts. There a few very quiet people who have in-depth knowledge. And most of them don't partake in the media circus.

I am kind of fascinated by such an attitude. Because I am simply not. It is probably part of being on the autism spectrum.

Today an right-wing extreme aquaintane texted me again. He seems to be very lonely. I told him he should change his disgusting and toxic worldview first. My friends pitied him. Not sure how long this exchange will last. I also pity him. But I am done with his shit actually.

Self-certainty is a major human temptation and shortcoming. That's why I dislike mental health care. These people like to claim expertise, to your face no less, on who you are as a person.

Truth be told. We need more people who don't know things to be involved in conversations as long as they have an open mind and are willing to listen and learn. The same can be said for people who think they know everything OR perhaps actually do know a lot of things. You can always learn something new from anyone you might encounter. It's one thing to not allow yourself to be gaslit or manipulated or lied to... but you need to be open to new ideas and new ways of looking at things in case someone comes up with something new and surprises you.

But, far too often most of the people who talk are the ones who know the least about a topic. Too many people either are overconfident in what they think they know OR simply don't give a shit and want to snow you. We need to drown that shit out. Open dialog is good, and not knowing a specific thing is fine as long as you admit when you don't know about something and are willing to listen.

The most frustrating debate I was ever in was with a guy who had all these opinions about various things in the news that had hit the level of people talking about them daily... but when I asked him some questions it was clear he didn't know much about it beyond headlines. He hadn't read anything or seen any reporting or any videos available. I pointed him at some and he said he wasn't interested. I told him having an opinion was fine, and he didn't have to agree with me, but he was a fool to assert any knowledge of a thing he was openly refusing to learn anything about.

We are all entitled to our opinions, but nobody has a right to spew nonsense and assert things they literally refuse to learn the easy facts about from which to base that opinion.
