Hi all.

To cut a long story short, recently I attempted a full suspension hanging but I was interrupted and almost caught at the last second. I had to change my plans completely. Now I'm at a new place and the only spot that is high up enough that I can fully suspend myself from doesn't look too strong. So I've been considering a partial hanging. My last attempt showed me my survival instinct has really been worn down over the years. I'm certain I won't change my mind in the middle of it. What I'm not certain about is if partial suspension would really put enough pressure on my veins. Like what if I lose consciousness and slump sideways instead of forward? Would that fuck the whole thing up? I don't want to just wake up with a headache the next day.

Has anyone here tried this method and failed simply because of a positioning issue? Any recommendations to lower the risk of survival? Thanks in advance.

I tried partial tonight with the bar of my wardrobe. The bar didn't hold me and bended. Be sure your anchor point is strong enough to hold you.

wtf that seems almost too easy. I know its hard to find a good anchor spot and its also hard to fight your instincts, but im surprised at how one sit down / kneel down ends the life. very interesting

Yes. It is not exactly rocket science. As long as you have a rope or something that can hold your weight and a sturdy doorknob, of course. The hardest thing is fighting the survival instinct.

It turned purple while he was dying and then it went back to normal when it seems he died, when his body movements stopped and his body went limp.

i only know a little about hanging. Will it also happen if you hang yourself the other way around?

If you block your blood from flowing from/to your head, the color change will happen in full suspension, yes. But it is temporary.

I'm not sure. From what I seen I haven't noticed it happening, but I would not be surprised if it did happen.
I know that the chances of blood coming out of your nose are higher with ligature strangulation than with hanging, also your face usually remains purple after death with ligature strangulation and not as likely for that to happen with hanging.

My anchor point is definitely strong enough to hold my weight but I've read that when you're convulsing, your body puts a lot more pressure on the point and I don't want to take that chance. If you're going to attempt another partial, I'd suggest doing a test beforehand by tieing the rope to something that looks sturdy enough and pulling yourself up with the rope. Thanks for the reply and good luck.

I hadn't seen that particular one but I had seen other ones. I know plenty of people have been successful with partial. But what about the unsuccessful attempts? Why were they unsuccessful? I want to know how this method could go wrong so I can take some precautions. Thanks for the video though. I don't know if mine will end up being as easy as that one looks but it gives me hope.

Can you paste links to the other videos you seen, I'm interested.
I know that if you use your body weight as the person in this video did u wI'll complete suicide as long as the anchor, knot, and rope can support your weight.
Most fails are due to not putting enough pressure on the carotid arteries and bailing out. It's easy to bail out if you don't go uncouncious quick.also if your position is off, you could wake up after passing out.
I'm sure the person in the video had no idea that he was going to end up in that position ultimately, he probably thought he was going to remain in the sitting position he started off in.
So if u could paste some links to the other videos you have seen I will watch them.

The carotid and the jugular are kind of deep in the neck I think. Because I tried compressing them just to test it a few times and I only passed out once. Am I right in thinking that the more of my body is on a surface, the less pressure I'll be putting on my neck? So, standing up with only my toes touching the ground would be better than sitting down or kneeling?

I'll try to find a few of the vids tomorrow when I'm on the pc. Hopefully they're still in my browser history.

I don't feel good giving advise on suicide, bease I'm not an expert, I'm actually still looking for the right teqnique also, so far standing up with only my toes touching the ground has been what I have been thinking of though.

Here is a video of someone completing partial suspension.

http://theync.com/shocking/18609-suicide.htm

That took so long, it seems he started applying pressure around 1:30 and didn't pass out until 5 mins later at around 6:30.

Having tried this method a few times, I find sitting down with force (rope pulling up bodyweight forcing down) like the other video works well. After practice on the angles, etc. I find having the rope in a straight line and high under the chin with the knot on the back of the neck to works well. With this setup I could pass out in roughly 15 secs, the problem is I never have the willpower to stay the course. I've been choked out in jiu-jitsu once before and also from the choking game but the knowledge you'll never wake up again is incredibly daunting.

Maybe the reason it took so long for him to pass out was that he was struggling with his survival instinct, I doubt it was too painful because he could had released the rope if it was too painful, he choked himself out and then when he fell, his neck got caught and the hanging began. He used a very effective method there. I agree that the survival instinct would be a huge problem with the method in the video. And I really don't know how painful it could had been really.

^ Watching it again, it appears he lets up a few times because he doesn't have the right angle and is experiencing the classic pressure build which is insanely painful. In the end, I think he got it right only because I can't imagine many people could follow through by only closing the jugulars because that is insanely painful.

Well shit. Watching these has given me second thoughts on hanging now. Got it all set up, just waiting for that spark to make me do it. I've had it before, tried hanging and it hurt like hell. I've thought it through this time, learned about the carotid, but still, maybe this isn't the way to go...fuck.

Yeah its nothing what I thought it was like. Most live hanging videos are pretty grusome.
I suggest u watch at least a few before you do it.
