I have been reading about it for days and hours as I lost all the hope in SN

but I have realised that there's a misconception that partial hanging is painless and you'll pass out in seconds which is the case for a minority

the majority felt scared and were wild awake and that their head was abou to explode

I'm sad because I had hope in this !

now start all over again looking for a new method

Partial is my number one right now. And, I have heard all from both sides. Painless and not painless, passing out after seconds, the "sweet spot," potential brain damage. I still would like to know how effective can it be though? If it much likely to lead to unconscious, then I suppose nothing to fear. But I agree with you, there are plenty of misconceptions.

This is nothing to prove that and sadly must people were terrified from the pain it's humanly impossible

I've tried this a number of times and it's only ever worked once. That time, I had tied a sock around my neck. I was struggling to breathe and it obviously wasn't working so I moved the sock, trying to get it off. In doing so I must have accidentally got the knot in just the right place.
Next thing I knew I was coming round on the floor with paramedics on the scene. I had pissed myself and someone had been giving me CPR.
Really can't imagine I could do it again on purpose.

Yes, partial hanging is not as easy as it sounds. I know that quite well because I've tried to ctb twice with that method and what you said happened to me: "my head was about to explode"

So, it seems SN is the only option for me.

That "head exploding" is incorrect placement. It took me hundreds of times to work out how to find the "sweet spot". The only problem is that I found the hypoxia uncomfortable (tingly body etc) it is not painful at all but deeply uncomfortable and for people like me, unbearable. If I could have withstood it just 15 or so more seconds I wouldn't be here.

Never liked the term "partial" hanging. Either you go full or don't do it at all. Partial hangings are the kind of hangings that happen accidentally like a kid being stuck in the window blinds and choking himself to death. People around the world tie a noose up against a cross bracing of their house or shed, strong enough to hold their body weight, climb a chair and then push the chair out from underneath them.

Unpopular opinion: Partial hanging is for those who kind of want to suicide but want to have a chance of changing their mind on it. Nonetheless, partial hanging requires a lot of patience and meticulous crafting to get it right to ensure death.

i want to do partial, because it hurts less. I'm 100% sure about ctb, its just about pain.

Exactly,it's extremely rare to get the results you want and you don't want to get brain damage

not everyone has access to places to do a full suspension, my doors dont even fully touch the walls leaving a gap so cant use that either, partial is just more convenient for alot of people, and from experience hurts less

I don't really see what's wrong with this? There is no shame in wanting to have a chance to back out of suicide.

I tried it some times, it stay painful every times with pain in neck and high pressure in brain with headache, I'm still wanting to die this way but I also try to found another way because of the pain, some people experiencing "light" feelings as I read, but it's not my case, maybe I'm not doing it well (I will not be here if I do it correctly...) but for me it's not painless and I stop before pass out because of pain in the neck(I have a lot of spine and neck pains problems here so it's also could be a cause of my pain while trying partial hanging, I don't know)

I hope to lose conscious one day, but for now it help me to remove some stress and I feel strange every times, like feeling tingling everywhere on my skin and some headache. I don't know why but I feel relaxed after a try.

You can damage yourself even if you don't pass out

Full will knock you out in seconds. To succeed quickly with partial seems to be somewhere between an art form and pure luck.

The thing with full hanging is if you get it wrong you might not pass out quickly enough and then hang there while you wait to suffocate to death. At least with partial you can back out if you don't get the sweet spot.

Sorry to hear about the troubles many of you are having with partial hanging. I've done it pain-free with success a few times but I woke up to a broken rope each time due to a poor understanding of physics.

All I know is that my sweet spot is the nook right where my neck and chin meet right above my Adam's apple. Like I can press into this area with my hand and close off the airway completely without much effort so thus with a scarf wrapped around my neck (for comfort), with the rope over that, firmly pressed into this sweet spot the effect and depth is much more significant (probably to the point of pressing against the carotid artery and cutting it's circulation off as well). Testing this arrangement by stepping slightly into the rope slowly and partially forward (80 degree angle) I could feel the darkness come on very quickly.

Best of luck to all of you with whatever you decide to do. I believe everything happens for a reason and I hope happiness finds you somehow.

Presumably you got the information from people who have failed? The people who did it right aren't here to testify

Also be careful of damage to your ears
Oh my god I get really bad problems with my ears.....I never thought it could be to do with trying to hang. Is this something that happens often?

You need to do everything right. I read in the handbook of medical forensic examination that this method requires a force of 2-10 kg, and not as it is written in the instructions 3 kg (probably this is the average value)

I don't know why but I feel relaxed after a try.
My method isn't partial but I can relate to this.
Not sure why but after every round of trainspotting I feel super relaxed.
But most of time I also just regret not having jumped.

We have members that reported permanent Tinnitus after partial hanging attempt. From my research, hearing loss is also possible. It seems to be related with the jugulars blockage and building of presion in your brain
