A few days ago, I attempted partial and I have no idea what went wrong, I haven't had a experience like this before and haven't heard of one like this.
I started the attempt like I usually do, following NoLifeNoPain's guide. But almost as soon as I started it and felt myself dropping, I was immediately back on my feet again, gasping for air and feeling a extremely painful burning in my neck. I went to go look at a mirror and saw a rope burn taking up a fair portion of it. I assumed my rope had slipped, and decided to go to bed.
The issue is that it still hurts. I expected it to hurt for a day or two, but still be this painful on day 5. The burning sensation has mostly gone away, but it's strange that my neck still hurts. Does anyone have a similar story or any ideas on what exactly I might have done? I can provide a picture if it'll help.

I'm not a doctor.but i imagine you could of damaged muscles or nerves perhaps? certainly a muscle injury could be still hurting now.

you might want to get it checked out by a doctors,I can see your issue though with i guess having a mark around your neck

I had rope burns after my failed attempt, but they were no painful at all. I just had to hide them well.

IF you jumped up quickly, could it be possible you have 'jarred' your neck?

I'm not an expert though, just thinking of possibilities. It would be best to get checked out of course

You probably damaged your nerves. Go see a doctor asap. Test if you still have sensation over your shoulders and arms if yes you are on the safe side. But definitely recommend seeing a doctor and don't be afraid of them reporting you because of failed attempt.

The point of death by hanging is to die by putting pressure on your neck. It's a serious method than can lead to serious consequences if you fail. I am guessing you passed out for a few seconds slightly Injured your neck or it's in your head. It's probably not that big of deal and will fix itself on its own but who knows really. Just be really careful if you attempt again as there are things far worse than death such as accidentally making yourself severely disabled and people patting themselves on the back for you living which has certainly happened with failed hanging attempt although it's unlikely to fail.
