• Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

i know that overdosing on antidepressants almost never works out (and i'm most likely not going to attempt it), but i was just wondering, does taking two different kinds of antidepressants improve the chances of a successful OD? specifically citalopram (celexa) and vortioxetine (trintellix). from what i've read, i have enough of both to constitute a lethal dose, and google says that even in small doses they can be dangerous when taken together, but i've not been able to find any reports of people ODing this way.

ai says:
Regarding the combination of citalopram (Celexa) and vortioxetine (Trintellix)—yes, taking them together can be dangerous, even at therapeutic doses, due to the risk of serotonin syndrome, which can be life-threatening. Overdosing could lead to severe effects like seizures, heart complications, loss of consciousness, or worse.

wouldnt risk it though, serotonin syndrome is no fun making it all very unpredictable

I wouldn't risk this. You might end up with brain damage/serotonin syndrome.

I don't know if you ever had to stop or forgot to take antidepressants before. But if you have, you are probably familiar with "brain zaps".

Serotonin syndrome is a whole bunch of that type of stuff.

Trying to OD = pain and suffering, probably not a quick death either

The rate is very low, since antidepressants don't have very marked effects at therapeutic doses. What you've been told is that serotonin syndrome can develop, and that is very harmful and even fatal. However, it's rare, unless it's an overdose, and it's almost like taking a risk with any other drug: you won't die, but you will have after-effects and very unpleasant sensations.
Some time ago, I read about a case where there was an attempted CTB with an overdose of some antidepressant whose name I can't remember. During gastric lavage, several capsules or pills were found, so that makes me think it's too risky to try that method, even with several types of antidepressants.
