  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

"Habit 1: Be Proactive is about taking responsibility for your life. You can't keep blaming everything on your parents or grandparents. Proactive people recognize that they are "response-able." They don't blame genetics, circumstances, conditions, or conditioning for their behavior. They know they choose their behavior."

Do any of you guys feel you blame your family or aren't proactive and this is a problem for life?

If I have really bad anxiety, depression and things because of my family or my trauma is because of them? If your hindered by tour genetics or upbringing that's just too bad?

It's literally all genes and environment. What you choose is determined by these two factors, look up hard determinism before you get people hurt with this nonsense.

Let's not forget that if someone isn't proactive then it leads to a learned helplessness. Bless those professionals thinking about patients' welfare.

People are like etch a sketch... All that's come before shapes you thereafter.

Only by stopping, walking back, and reliving those moments can you see where they led and why.

Proactive to me, is wiping away as much as you can, and focusing on the most 'proactive' things. Like reprogramming from all the bullshit. Just need to try be proactive in having the experiences you want to counteract the bullshit maybe? Cutting down the weeds that obscure your view kind of thing.

Proactive is like being the brighter and generally nicer person in my eyes. Too many people think it's just lumping it and working hard, which I guess is pro but not exactly in a positive way, or active way.

Did I choose to be bipolar? No. Do I blame others for it? Also no. Did my upbringing contribute to it? Possibly. It is what it is.

I can't change the past, all I can do is focus on the present and plan for the future.

It's not your fault, but dealing with it is your responsibility.
You can't escape that. Life is generally a crock of shit. It's how you deal with it that defines you.

I don't blame them for how I turned out because they didn't know any better. Antinatalism is a very niche movement so I can understand why most parents don't see what they can impose on someone when they have a child. But at the same time I hope my mom can extend that same courtesy to me for not being "protactive". There are no set paths in life and I don't see why someone living until 80 is considered more valid than someone who chooses to die in their 20s because they don't want to deal with all this crap.

LOL. Holy shit. I think in this case it is the environment that makes a huge deciding factor. Are my parents rich, smart, loving, engaging, productive, sane, patient, or enablers? If any are the opposite we get what we have here. One of many websites that talk about having such a fucked up life that you are thinking of fucking killing yourself.

I blame myself for everything. I feel like I have no right to be how I am. Sure, a lot of shit has happened, but I blame myself for how I've allowed it to affect me and how I reacted to it. Everything is my fault, because I didn't do better. I hate myself for that.

On the other hand—and I'll sound like a hypocrite here—I don't think it's true for other people. There are too many factors that are out of your control, and it's not fair to expect you to just get over everything and continue like you're fucking invincible.
