Most method talk here is about well established methods like SN and N. However, for many people there isn't a good enough existing method to CTB on, especially since SN is getting more and more inaccessible. I think it would be great to see more threads on new method ideas, and maybe start looking for something to replace SN.

Thoughts?

Getting really drunk, wandering into the woods and getting hypothermia doesn't sound too bad

Amitriptyline (+ benzo + opiates + alcohol) sounds quite effective, and is definitely easier to get than N and possibly SN now, but you've got to get 10 grams of it I think, which is quite a lot - some dodgy online back-alley pharmacies sell it - even UK Meds sell it through their online consultation prescription thing, but I don't know what the criteria is - I told them I wanted it for neuropathic pain, but they refused the order - maybe I tried to order too much, I don't know - my doctor was giving me it for pain before, but now they know I have suicidal ideation, I doubt they will, but I'll try...

I thought about that for a while. The more I think about it the more peaceful it sounds. But is it really?
Depends on how drunk you are, firstly. Personally, I hate barfing. But if you just lie down & pass out, then that's it. So from that standpoint it's about as peaceful as you can get…

Dying from hypothermia does have risks. I saw a news report about a guy who found his son after overnight drunk in the snow and they managed to bring him back but without a couple of limbs. Basically, a person freezing is in a deep come-like state for a good amount of time and the medics have a way of bringing them back.
