Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

I am back at university after being away on spring break. I went to visit one of my friends at her uni. I go to school at least 1000 miles away from my closest friend. I have no friends at university and only 4 in the whole country. It will be another four months of being alone here and I hate it. I feel so lonely.

How does one even go about making friends? I am in my third year here and it seems as though everyone has already solidified their friend groups and are not looking to make new ones. I am not sure that I would make a good friend anyway, I don't know what I would talk about. I miss being able to get coffee with a friend and listen to someone else talk, hear anyone elses voice but mine.

This whole situation makes me want to lay in bed and cry. Well lucky me, its not like I have anything else to do.

I've never been good at making or maintaining friends, so this probably isn't helpful.

Clubs? Events? You could try finding friends outside of university. Attend a pottery class, go to a concert, or join a bookclub, maybe? If you work, talk to your coworkers or go to work events. You could always go to a bar on the night of a sports game and act interested or something :3

How to make friends?

You'd probably get a better answer from a web search but since you're asking here I'm going to pretend that it wasn't rhetorical.

If you would like to befriend someone who seems very outgoing, talk to them as if you've already been friends for ages even if you just met. Get personal. Ask them about themselves. These types of people usually love sharing and are very open.

If you would like to befriend someone who seems reserved, be very formal. Don't pry too much, they'll feel like you're trespassing. They're usually very guarded. Stick to neutral topics, ask them about their thoughts about stuff, but don't make them the subject of conversation.

Hope that helps a little bit.

I went to a very large public university and did develop a few friendships there, but not what I imagined before starting. None of them remain now, however. (unlike some siblings who have friends from their college years). I think some people just have a better ability to make friends and others and I wasn't one of them

Just know you are not alone. I'm a senior in college and haven't made a close friend in all my four years.
