Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Technically both of these things have been mentioned to an extent, but separately and with very little discussion. So, from what I understand, inert gas asphyxiation functions by replacing the air in a hood with something that dosent trigger the bodies breathing impulse, but still kills you if you replace too much of your oxygen with it. From what I understand, deaths from Nitrous Oxide and Diethyl Ether both operate more or less the same way, and in the case of ether, often occur without a mask.

Obviously Ether is a bit difficult to get, but I'm sure it could be made in one's home for roughly the price of a large helium tank, and it seems like it would be far less prone to causing any form of psychological panic near ones last moments of life, a bit like a heroin overdose. Laughing gas seems like it has similar potential, although it would probably require a hood of some form to be effective. The main objection iv seen to the idea of using laughing gas as an inert gas to CTB with is that it might be harder to regulate the gas coming out of the tank, but theoretically it seems like making a small slit in the bag and just allowing the gas to push out the excess oxygen would be more or less as functional.

Idk, the idea of inert gas as a method to CTB is very interesting, on a mechanical level as well as a personal one, but idk why people use stuff like helium or argon when there may very well be accessible alternatives that make your last moments a little more pleasant. No shade on anyone who does lean more towards more established methods btw, it sounds like a lot of the people who are skeptical of Nitrous as an inert gas alternative are kind of worried that it's untested, and I get the impulse to CTB the first time.
