Hi all,

I remember reading that Kelly Catlin tried to ctb via exit bag and was left with heart and lung damage, although she used helium.

I'm wondering if anyone knows of any instances of lung damage from failed attempts? How long would one have to inhale for damage to occur?

I found this but it's geared towards nitric oxides not pure nitrogen, im not scientific enough to know if this applies to pure (99% and up) Nitrogen

Does anyone know how long you'd have to inhale to do lung damage? Is it possible to do with a 20-30 second trial run, or would it take longer?

No idea. But I wouldn't worry about it. If you survive and end up getting lung damage, that in of itself can steer you to a more natural death. So there's the silver lining.

Nitrogen doesn't cause any damage, you are breathing 78% Nitrogen right now.
