N Questions - receiving and hiding

How big of a PO Box should I get if ordering N from A? Just be on the safe side and get a larger one?

What's the best place to hide it? Is a storage unit safe? Post office box? I don't think I can hide it outside.

If you are going to get a PO box, I'd get a private one (ex: UPS in the US) instead of one from the post office for legality reasons and peace of mind. A medium sized one would probably work but a large one would better and the cost of it is a drop in a bucket compared to N so being on the safe side isn't a bad idea

I'm in Canada, do you know if there's an equivalent. I don't fully understand what you mean.

I'm not sure tbh but maybe look at private mail/shipping carriers in your country for possible options.

Probably a stupid question, and not to hijack the thread, but how would it help with legality? I'm assuming I have to show ID to get a UPS box anyway.

I saw that the mailing address is actually a stress address rather than @Post office, or whatever the address is with a PO box. So it's less likely to arouse suspicion. They're also probably not paying close attention to legal issues.

Typically, private companies care less about illegal substances compared to government affiliated post offices (unless it's ridiculously obvious of course). But yes you'll have to provide ID regardless there's no way around that.

Keep in mind the issue of "plausible deniability".
Your home name and address are public knowledge, so when something is sent there, it doesn't prove it was you who ordered it (it is "deniable").
But your name at a PO Box address is not public knowledge, so it suggests it was *you* who ordered if some investigation took place (it is less "deniable").
This is why many people think it's better to just use your normal name and address.
The exception might be if items can be sent to the PO Box address using a different name, but you are still able to collect them (although some people might still argue that your normal name and address is better).
If you think that approach might be possible and wanted to try it, then you could try some "test runs", and send a few packages to your PO Box with different names, and see if you are able to collect them.
But if doing that requires you to register that pseudonym with the PO Box company, then you're back to square one....

Unfortunately I live with other people who are nosy, so it'd be too difficult to receive an order like this - they would ask questions.

At least the private box has an unsuspicious mailing address, so it easily looks like a home or business address to customs - vs post office which has clearly stated "PO box".

Maybe just double check that they will sign for packages if needed, although I guess generally they would....

b.t.w. in general storage terms, I suppose you could just keep items in the PO box if you are renting that box, unless you wanted something more secure like renting a deposit box...

I'll have to figure out how it works, it would be great if I could just keep stuff in the box. That seems more under the radar than my storage unit that everyone knows I have or a safety deposit box which I'm sure police could easily check.

Well, unless they have some time limit defined within which you must collect items from your box, then I can't see why you wouldn't be able to do that.
