So while I was at work today, my wife found the gun I had been hiding in our camper that's out back.. she showed me the camera footage and said she saw me going in multiple times at night so she went through it while I was at work. I told it it will not leave the bedroom safe. (I lied to her and said it was for our safety, protection for the new born etc etc…)

My issue is now, is well, she knows it exists and she knows what I've attempted in the past..

I've got a designated, remote location in mind.

Question now is.. Do I move it, take off tonight and ctb?
Because by tomorrow, while I am at work i 100% fucking guarantee you the gun WILL be gone. It will be either moved or taken to another family members house.

Or do I just sit back and let it go and wait for a better opportunity… cuz fuck man, I'm ready to go :/

I'd say there's too much heat. You wouldn't want your attempt to be rushed and half-baked. Let her feel like she's in control so that she might hopefully back off a bit. A gun is replaceable.

Sorry about your key to freedom being snatched away. Do you have enough money to get a new gun when the current one is removed? If not, can you save enough for a new one once she gets off your back?

Yeah money is pretty tight right now so it'll definitely be a at least a 4 or 5 month delay..

Again, sorry for your misfortune. Between your wife's meddling and the surveillance cameras, she's really got you by the balls. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like you'll never get the current gun back even after months of placating her nerves.

I'm so sorry, I worry about that everyday as I also have a gun hidden from my sig other hoping they don't find it. I should of used it by now anyway, I wish I had the courage to go off and pull the trigger like I need to to end my pain. Feel for you man, hopefully the gun can be replaced and when you get it you can do it before she finds it again

If you don't mind me asking you have a wife who can hear you and be there for you both to rely on. Like someone who likes you for you (even if you don't know why), can't you just lie down with her and talk.

Someone who confronts you with video footage and becomes suspicious enough to rummage through your belongings while you're gone doesn't sound to me like the kind of person you could rely on.

Nobody can make that decision for you. You can relocate the gun as another option. Do you have a concealed carry permit? Is the car while you're at work not an option?

I feel like only you know what is the best for yourself. I'm sorry that you are in this situation, I can imagine that it must be stressful and frustrating. I do wish that we lived in a world where we do not have to hide ways to ctb and we could be open about wanting to leave. I hope that you find relief from your suffering in whatever you decide to do.

yeah, basically. She wasn't exactly trustworthy of me after my last time trying to ctb. And she's a pretty fiesty red head so yeah, never gonna see the gun again.

(I'm struggling to figure out the forums here so I apologize for the string of responses..lol), but
I could be open with her about all of this, sure. The issue is she will use it against me about "you're tearing this family apart" and "It's not my problem that you haven't figured out your own problems" or, my favorite, "stop having your pity party and go inside" (I hang out in my barn and smoke, tinker on shit)

She threatened divorce last time and honestly
I would not be opposed but I know if she hands me papers I can kiss my house and everything bye bye :')
I would rather let her have the shit after I'm gone.
And it's not like I don't care about her, because I do, it's just when it comes to mental battles..
she's just not the one to be open with. Maybe small stuff, but not ctb big stuff…
