Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

19 y.o and totally pessimistic about my professional future, without any dreams or aspirations, just living day after day.

I'm into IT, and day after day I'm more convinced that I will be a McDonald's cashier at best when I graduate, everything points to the fact that junior programmers will be useless when I graduate in 4 years, I feel like I'm wasting my time and my parents' money.

It's really hard to stay motivated knowing that none of this effort will be useful and this is making me feel suicidal.

Especially knowing that there's nothing else that I could be interested in professionally speaking.

Anyone feeling the same?

Forgive my bad English

You're 19, you have plenty of time to find something that could be in demand while also be fulfilling.
I emphasize the fulfilling part.
Search on any discussion site and people that turned passion into works lost the passion.
So keep your passion as one, be it IT or anything else.
Working isa huge part of your life and is a tough find.
You can have some 'godsend' job where your most demanding task will be to...feint having a lot of work, while being super well paid.
But lo an behold, after a while you go crazy from boredom
Then you can have the contrary
But i 19 you have everything to experiment yet, and being cashier at McDonalds is also one of them and i'm not ironic.
ALso McDonald is a weird thing because its not so bad in the sense that, if you stay there, you have a lot of chance to be a manager quick. There are a lot of student going there for quick money while studying, but doing it as a job? very few.

Maybe get into Machine Learning?
Yes, being a "coder" is probably dying. But IT is much bigger

Do you enjoy what you do?
Also, juniors are at risk at pretty much every gig out there
However, seniors will be still required. And in order to have seniors, you should have juniors first.
So I think things are going to autoregulate eventually.
