She talked to me this morning and told me that she is worried about me and that she fears at nights that I might not be alive the day after. She asked me if I am suicidal, I said no, she asked me if I have at least thought of it, I said yes but I am too scared to do it because I fear what comes next, and that I don't want to traumatize the rest of the family. Then we had a kept on talking about some random stuff, at the end of conversation she said she was afraid last night that I might not be alive this morning.

How in the hell did she figure these things out? I have not once mentioned suicide for years... So bizarre. Could it be that I've isolated myself a lot recently, is that a dead give away of sorts? But then again I've had periods where I've done it before without any worries from her part.

Also it kind of disturbed me when she told me about all this, feels like a reaffirmation of what's to come for me, now or in the future, made it feel real.

Strange.

When you're depressed you have a distorted perception of reality. Depressed people often don't notice their abnormal behaviour. People around you can easily spot that you're suicidal especially when they've known you for years.

That actually makes a lot of sense. Thanks.

@throwaway123 typed a great comment, but it might also be possible that she saw you browsing this site or saw this site in your browsing history. That could explain the sudden 'are you suicidal' instead of simply asking if you're doing OK.
