My euthanasia part 5 and fucking corona

Less than two weeks. It's kinda ironic that an allegedly deadly virus almost kept you from killing yourself. But I'm glad they didn't even consider restarting the process, that would've been absurd and complete torture.

Did follow your story and know what you mean about not feeling any joy in life. It's one of the worst bits, and really a tragedy we're not there yet when it comes to fixing these issues. Maybe in a different time a lot of us would've received the help we need and went on to live happy lives. Thought it was kinda sad when they told you in P3 that they actually couldn't do anything more for you, possibly even making it worse. That's something they'll always avoid saying everywhere else where euthanasia is illegal. Can't say how many of us are beyond help, but the vast majority of us are certainly prefectly sane and reasonable, and well aware of what we're contemplating.

Will you be making a goodbye thread?

Just want to tell you that I very much appreciate your attitude in a discussion. You may not be happy, but you're far more rational than the vast majority of "healthy" people out there, who can't accept an argument if it goes against their way of thinking or undermines their point of view somehow. I respect that and wish we had more people like that.

Thats not living its trying to go by day by day and but never able to work normally or function socially. This was the case years ago but not anymore. Its exhausting year in year out.

But i am happy she called me yesterday
She told me i need to keep in mind that tje County can go in lockdown and then its canceled until lockdown is over.

Maybe i will do a goodby tread but it will be just my part 6 about the regime and the last day.

I will keep the small updates here and final part 6 in 2 week

So this means people who are in the intensive care unit for Covid 19 and need a ventilator but cannot get one because of lack of resources do not even get assisted suicide but have to die slowly and painfully?

Exactly. I suppose some nurses OD them on morphine - my aunt is a nurse and did that to my grandpa when he died.

Mhm, know what you mean. Have felt the same, it becomes meaningless if one can't get healthy or into a good state of mind anymore. What's the point of suffering if there is no redemption to strive for.

Yeah, must have been devastating for you. I mean we all have our suspicions, but it's probably harder when one does indeed get it confirmed from an outside person and realises that it's final. Have my reservations for mental health professionals, but this notion is probably one thing I mean to avoid too. Wish things had been better for all of us.

They are not taking in new applications and open cases will be put on hold for now.
Only euthanasia is allowed under strict rules without to much people.

I just hope they wont execute a lockdown here because then it will be terminated untill the situation gets better

Hope it all turns out well, and one thing I've been meaning to ask you though, how much influence do you (normally) have on the set date? Was it your choosing? Do they offer you some leeway?

Its up to me when.
But from the moment the team and the external psychiatrist i can go or wait months. But when i had seen the scen doctor i only have 4 week within to die.
So i do need to set my date self but also on the hand of her agenda.

My euthanasia process have been going on since my application in august 2018.
The first interviews started in November of 2019 and went on for the past year.
2 weeks ago I had my last interview with the scen-doctor who had to check if all protocols have been met and everything was correct.
Last week I got the third green-light and my euthanasia team called me to verify if i wanted to proceed with the euthanasia.
I answered yes I still want to die and go on with the euthanasia, we planned a date in the days of 30 / 31.

Because her direct colleague is sick and out of work long term she need to find a replacment.
So a agreed on her situation she needed to find a replacement nurse to support her during the euthanasia.
This is problematic because also because of the risk they take when performing the euthanasia and the justice department.
So totally agreed on the situation and waited.

Now this bloody virus is going around I got a call today,
They euthanasia clinic is shutting down all cases as from now on because of risk of infection.
The government of The Netherlands have locked down the country till 6 of April.

They are not allowed to visit people anymore so euthanasia is off for now.
She ask me to wait till next week so they have more information on the situation also.

This situation pissed me so of this morning I feel so fucking restless now
I am going to call them again tomorrow morning and demand my euthanasia in the week of 30 or the 7th.

Sick and tired of this process I WANT TO DIE.

Yesterday i had a call with the clinic about my euthanasia. They are really scared about the Corona situation, they have placed me in quarantaine till my euthanasia next week.
If anyone at hone or family is sick they won't preform the euthanasia.

Next Wednesday they will make a final call with me.
