Good on you for being honest with your family, at least when you ctb they new you were in pain and are at peace now, it will be a shock for them but not as much of a shock for them, if they wasn't aware of your pain.
I think your dad may just be being cool, does your other family members know about this, if so I would explain your an adult, in pain and this is your decision it's personal so you want to be a lone, look your dad in the eye and say to him, would you really let me die in the same room and explain the SI to him, tell your dad no as your more concerned for his mental health.
The trouble now without telling you if you have brothers and sisters living at home they will be told to keep an eye on you as your not well, if this is the case I hope you tell your family they can't keep you under surveillance 24/7 because you will slip away and it's no ones fault, that way if you do decide to ctb there will be less guilt.
