I don't know if anyone will like these since opera is not very popular, but they're very touching and dear to me so I'll share them.

Since the lyrics are Italian, here's the English translation:

'They killed my mother
At the door of my room;
She died and saved me.
Later, in the dead of night
I was wandering with Bersi
When suddenly
A pale glow flashes
And it lightens ahead of me
The dark street
I look,
My home was burning!
So I was alone.
And all around me, nothing.
Hunger and misery,
Deprivation, danger.
I fell ill,
And Bersi, so good and pure
Made a market of her beauty
For my sake -
I bring misfortune to all those who loves me!
It was in that grief
That love came to me!
A voice full of harmony and it says:
'You have to live! I am the life itself!
Your heaven is in my eyes
You're not alone.
I'll collect all your tears,
I'll walk with you and support you,
Smile and hope, I am love!
Are you surrounded by blood and mud?
I am divine, I am oblivion.
I'm the God that descends on Earth
From the Empyrean, I turn Earth
Into heaven, Ah!
I'm love, I'm love, love
And the angel approaches with a kiss
And the Death is kissing you.
My body is a dying body.
So take it
I've already died!'

This comes from the opera' la traviata' by Giuseppe verdi. Singing Anna Netrebko.

"Farewell, happy dreams of the past,
The roses in my cheeks are already pallescent;
I'm also missing Alfredo's love
Comfort, support for my tired soul
Oh, smile at the desire of the forsaken woman;
To her, oh, grant forgiveness; welcome her, O God,
Now it is all over.
Joys, sorrows will end in a short time,
The tomb is the end of everything for mortals.
My grave will have no tear or flower,
No cross with a name that covers these bones.
Oh, smile at the desire of the forsaken woman;
To her, oh, grant forgiveness; welcome her, O God,
Now it is all over."

The lyrics are so beautiful and universal. People can still relate to them (at least they mean a lot to me) in spite of being composed two centuries ago. I hope classical music will never die. Plus Anna Netrebko is beautiful, triggers my bisexuality lol.

I'm not sure where I first heard this, but I love a lot of his songs. This is a more melancholy one, but he has some nice upbeat ones.

the truth is that I never shook my shadow,
everyday it tries to trick me into doing battle

this song is dedicated by the vocalist to his mother who died of cancer, and is about the passage of death, put in a beautiful metaphorical way. I could ctb to this for some reason.

@Pentobartbital Any idea what the violin is, at the beginning of Who is She? I've definitely heard it in something else. In the first 9 seconds.

i will always be an avid fan of nirvana. their music just makes me feel so alive, ironically enough lol. like i have a fight in me i never thought i had. i definitely love the in utero album the most.

i felt the same way about paramore when i discovered them after the release of their self-titled album, though i'm not too sure about their current music.

i also loved and still love ellie goulding's halcyon album. i can only describe it as beautiful and elegant.

speaking about current music, i really love billie eilish's new album. she's getting a lot of criticism. some of her music can be quite non-sensical, i'll admit, but i think the criticism for the most part is a disliking to the fact that a teenager is forming her own style and becoming successful because of it.

i think there is a Vocaloid artist a lot of people would like on here. his name is nashimoto ui. his songs strike your most inner thoughts and personal insecurities and ask you fairly bold questions like your purpose for being alive and why you want to die lol. his songs have almost a bittersweet atmosphere to them, as despite their directness and depressing feel they seem to always have this surprise neutral, almost optimistic attitude toward life at the end of almost every song.

this song really hit home for me. it's about regretting his wasted youth and why he is alive despite finding adulthood very bleak now, but takes a neutral tone toward life at the end when he says he will continue because he is not sure of his purpose yet.

arguably his most popular and controversial song... "you wanna die? go ahead and die."

Music + Alan Watts really does it for me. Makes me think, calm me. Helps me with the escapism as well. Great for night walks too.

Another song from Papa Roach, very relatable and angsty :)

Good ol' Bowie. A legend. R.I.P. This song is just so dear to me I can't stop listening to it and feeling a beautiful sense of alienation.

No judging (most of what I listen to is progressive breaks, electronic, classical) but Yung Gravy makes some hilarious music. The guy basically created his own rap subgenre.

The original song is what got me into Tame Impala, heh.
I'm gonna share one death-related, and IMO is the best singer voice alive.

"One day we we'll live together
And life will be better
I have it here yeah in my mind"

Interpol is a rock band created by four university students in the early 2000's New York. Their debut album Turn On the Bright Lights is haunting, agressive yet deeply melancholic.

Listening to it, it gives the feeling of what I can only describe as walking the streets of Manhattan alone at night, just you and the bright lights.

Although not about suicide, this song always gives me an intense feeling of melancholy.

Dance of the Knights by Sergei Prokofiev, a badass classical piece.

Dance Macabre by Camille Saint-Saëns, one of my favorites.

And to conclude, my absolute classical favorite, the 2nd Movement of beethoven's 9th symphony. A masterpiece.
