We are such a diverse species. I see the toxic people everywhere trying to get ahead of everyone else without ever considering all the consequences and outcomes that flow through our complex society. We are supposed to be the most advanced sentient species on this planet. We certainly do not use all our abilities consistently at all. Then, when I get all down on us, I remember my grandmother. Never raised her voice, always saw the glass half full. She volunteered everywhere trying to help and comfort people. The hospital, St. Vincent De Paul, the food bank, clothing drives. Kindness and compassion her entire life. When she passed, she did not want any flowers, just donate to the food bank. They received over 25k in donations and untold amounts of food. To this moment, I've always believed that if at least 50% of all us were like her, we would be in a much better world. Unfortunately, reality dictates much differently.

I'm bucking the trend here. I don't believe most humans are evil. I think everyone has enormous capacity for good and bad and the personal choice as to what they do with that.

I take great heart from whenever I read in the news of something terrible happening it is always followed by stories of huge self-sacrifice, bravery, love for fellow man and fund raising to help victims.

Take this website as a prime example; even in the absolute pits of despair, strangers want to comfort each other across continents and don't want others to ctb alone without a good wish to send them over the bridge.

We all are different, the thing about people that is the most interesting. I feel so badly for so many here, at such a young age, to have not known love. I married the first woman I truly loved and am still married to her today. We have two great kids, grown now, and are good people. Disease robs my body and mind. I've seen terrible people everywhere, doing terrible things. There is good in our species, I've experienced it.

This doesn't invalidate that "most" are evil as the title says. Its not "all"

I can relate to that. In my case, it's my mum... I haven't ctb through all these years mostly because of her. Sadly there are so many toxic and dangerous people out there; ready to mock you, hurt you, use you in so many different ways...

The world has come a long way with many things. We have peace and democracy in big parts of the world, we have put men on the moon, inventing medicine and we live longer. In many areas things are improving and progressing in the right direction.

But there is one big exception: We the people are still assholes and treat each other like shit!

I'm constantly amazed how rotten some people are! No matter how good our progress is with science, medicine, peace and what not: We humans will always be rotten and evil!

There is no fucking hope! Humans are cancer!

Humans are just computers that developed by chance that have many undesirable traits. We are programmed to feel good staying in our comfort zone even though that damns many of us etc!
