People say " money can buy happiness and everything" that's not true. I have money but I'm not happy. I have money but I can't even buy N. You can buy food and clothes with your money but definitely you can't buy happiness. First I thought I can buy a peaceful poison and just go to sleep. I was wrong 😑

Money might not be able to buy happiness but without it you certainly can't be happy for long.

A lot of my problems (not all though) can be traced back to the fact that I come from a weak socio economic background, so yeah speaking from experience.

It's a requirement, but not the only requirement. You need money to put yourself in the position for happiness, or otherwise obtain what's needed.

e*: "requirement" is a bit much so I'll say "in most cases"

Money can't buy:

- Genuine friendship/romantic partner.

- Immunity from many types of incurable diseases, physical and mental.

- Immunity from old age (I know plastic surgery exists, a lot of the times it looks bad and if it doesn't, your organs still age.

- Immortality

- Make people genuinely like you.

- A good heart/virtuous mind.

- Peace of mind.

Funnily enough, in the story of the Buddha, he left the palace (he was a prince), for almost all of the reasons I mentioned, specially the last one.

Money can't buy peace of mind, no matter how much you have of it.

I understand your point but I will tell you this it's better to be rich and miserable than poor and miserable, because at least you don't have to worry about the basic necessities on top of your misery, and you can engage in pure hedonistic activities to distract yourself from your emotional pain, hell you can even fly to Peru and hunt for N.

A respite from the cacophony I'm always surrounded by would certainly be comforting at the least. It's too bad the rat race is designed to keep you trapped in it. The times I did live alone were some of the most peaceful but those times were ruined by awful jobs that controlled my life.

For me, money would buy happiness. If I had enough money to where I could be a neet and laze around for life, I'd be extremely happy

Make sense and Peru is the plan it's just one issue: I can't die there my family will go insane looking for me 😢

So you're not depressed or mentally ill just financial issues?

I'm sorry for your experience. To be alone is differently peaceful but I'm not my family hunts me wherever I go it's like they own me.

I think money is important in its right measure. I think that without what other users think you are sold. Therefore, it does seem to me to be something necessary to be able to be in this life.

He and I don't want to have to work for a living. We don't want to become slaves to the system just to survive. This world is really cucked when you think about it. People have to sell their labor for survival purposes. How is any of it fair? It's NEET or rope for me. My main motivation to ctb is to escape society and wageslavery. I don't want to have to work my life away just to die in the end. I'd rather fast forward to death directly and die now. I don't dream of labor

Well! Same here I didn't work I happen to have a rich family literally none works but they are business owner from a long time ago. I don't want to be slave to this cheap society either. With me this is not happiness. I wish I die every second I'm just not enjoying anything

My family keeps on pressuring me to get a job even though we're well-off and I don't *have* to work. For some reason, they just want me to. They say that I should be contributing and doing more. I don't want to become a wageslave though. Wageslavery sounds miserable as hell to me. Doing the same thing day in and day out just to survive. It doesn't even seem like a life to me, just an existence. I know that if I get a job I will be miserable and rope. I don't understand how normies are okay with working their lives away. Work is modern day slavery and to be honest, I feel kind of bad for wagies. They're prisoners who think that they're free

I think I can care less about "the importance of money" if I'm just not feeling satsified. I'm leaving everything behind. I don't want this life and the money in it..

Like how rich ?
I guess it's me being envious.
I wish my parents were super rich. I'd live life to fullest consumption and could focus on things I'd want. Even if it's just gardening or writing a book.

I'd knew in my head no matter what happens I'd have enough money (=security) for the future.
If I happen to get some crazy disease… well who cares whatever happens happens sad but that's life.
You've got to experience life once and I am too stupid and broke to experience it to the fullest extend.

I guess your parents want you to experience how hard it is to earn money.

That's doesn't mean you have to become a wageslave. It's about the experience which is shitty and that's the whole point.
In the worst case your parents will support you moneywise.
I believe they just don't want you to become a spoiled little brat.

Like a millionaire! My dad is the richest person in the parish at least.. giving that, I really don't care he treats you like money. We never had a family discussion about ourself like humans. We sit on the table to talk about his stupid golf project! My sister killed herself and he still denying she had depression. I know he cheats on mom and she knows it but I guess she's staying to keep her reputation. If I don't die I'll end up like my mom. I have to leave like my sister

I tried my hand at a self-employed enterprise and pretty much blew it thinking that it would turn around. I waited too long and here we are. It's homelessness or death. I prefer death.

or you manage to get as much money off your dad and ruin everything for him once your secure enough ?
I'm super super super super sorry about your sister. This is horrible, utterly horrible. I don't know what else to say.
My parents also deny any mental illnesses. It just doesn't exist, they simplify everything.

It certainly can't buy everything but for a lot of people who struggle or have to worry about paying their bills it would make life way easier.

Being able to not worry about the most important thing - which I think in this society is money - would give most minds peace, shift their focus and open new ways and opportunities which could lead to happiness.

It can sort out a lot of things - shelter, food, diet, health (exercising and time), resources for companion like a dog, parrot, etc.

It can't sort out - your brain chemistry (autism, etc), bad genes (activated at any point like cancer), relationships, etc.

I mean I the trio of can't sort out so if I had money at least I could get a flat and be left alone and just volunteer.
Exacly ! And this I what I need .
I don't think it would make much of a difference as there as so many spiteful mutants everywhere it would be impossible (or statically improbable) that the money would fix it. You would have to navigate people who want resources and will do anything to get it - including being sociopathic, manipulative, etc to you because now you have money.

@sserafim summarised what I had to say about this topic. My thoughts, feelings and views align with everything that has been said here:
