So the night night method has yet to work for me for the 4th night in a row and it got me thinking, how could you achieve carotid compression without using a ratchet or tape?
All you would need is to place the corn/bean bags in place and find some way to add pressure towards the arteries area while giving the throat/Adams apple breathing space.
So after a few minutes of brainstorming, I came up with this:
(ignore the poor drawing skills)
First, you position yourself like the figure on the first chair (to ensure you don't fall backwards or forwards once you lose consciousness).
Then, you want to stack 2-3 corn/bean bags on the left and right sides of the top of the chair and position the bags and your neck so that the bags are near/below the arteries. The reason I say 2-3 cornbags is because you want to stack enough corn bags so your throat/Adams apple is above, and not touching the top of the chair(else it could get crushed in the next part).
Finally, you would place a dumbbell (of considerable weight - anywhere from 5 to 15 kg?) on the back of your neck, directly above the cornbag/carotid arteries area.
This way, the weight of the dumbbell would push down the center of the neck, and as a result, the cornbags at either side of the neck will push back at an angle(ish) against the Carotid arteries, ensuring compression. It's kind of like using your fingers to push inwards, except the fingers are replaced with corn bags.
The dumbbell should balance nicely on the neck even after you lose consciousness and if you place the chair near a wall, you wouldn't fall forwards either.
Once again this is all theoretical. I might try it out tomorrow but since I have no dumbbells I'll probably do a textbook or something and see.
Let me know what you guys think of this.
