  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

Iv read some users saying it's a reliable and relatively peaceful method...so why isn't it more well known or more report here, could it easily not be lethal?

MMQ has sedative-hypnotic properties, but it's not widely studied, and its use as a suicide method is not well documented or verified.

Users describing it as "reliable" or "peaceful" are likely basing that on its CNS depressant effects, which can cause sedation, unconsciousness, and respiratory depression at high doses similar to barbiturates or benzodiazepines. However, the lethality of MMQ as a solo method is highly questionable.

There are a few reasons why it's not widely discussed or used:
  1. Lack of availability – MMQ is a research chemical and is not readily accessible in many regions, and purity can vary dramatically between sources.
  2. Unpredictable pharmacology – Its potency, onset, and half life aren't well understood. That unpredictability can lead to either survival or a protracted, distressing experience.
  3. Limited documentation – There are few, if any, confirmed case reports or user threads providing detailed outcomes, making it difficult to assess risk and reliability with confidence.

The "respiratory depression" is nowhere near that of barbiturates. πŸ€—πŸŒΉπŸ’”

100%. Exactly why I don't know about MMQ being viable because people are likely just basing that on its CNS depressant effects and not all of its properties as I said.

I made two posts about it when I was desperate to find another way around SN. I didn't want to risk welfare checks and I only knew of DMC at the time. Now that I have got a domestic source for SN, I will most likely use it instead of MMQ.

Like the other people in this thread mentioned, there really is not a lot of studies done on its reliability and lethality. Most of the information you're gonna find is from the 80s-90s. However, there are a lot of anecdotal stories of people dying in drug related communities. And those people took relatively low doses.

So the method does not have a lot of evidence to support it. But I do personally believe that if taken with the right combination (lethal sedatives and benzodiazepines), it can kill you.

But my honest thoughts for myself? I'm using it as a back up plan. Yes I found a source that does not require you to be a company and will ship to residential addresses. But I rather take SN as there is way more research on it and evidence backing up the lethality.
