Hi ,

I'm deny_Conformity, I'm a 42M. I'm cis-het if it matters because I'm not looking to date, just looking for someone to talk to when I can't sleep at night or I'm having a bad day. I think we all know the loneliness that comes from feeling suicidal and not being able to talk to anyone. Currently not sure if I want to CTB or want to recover. I'm a good listener and sometimes just having someone else who cares listen to you can make an otherwise crappy day come out okay.

I have a diverse set of interests and love to learn new things. I play games (nearly exclusively with friends or my son), I listen to a diverse variety of music and enjoy it if it's got a good beat (everything from Slipknot to Taylor Swift, diverting via happy hardcore and breakbeat). I love horror movies and go to a yearly horror movie festival. I read a lot of trashy sci-fi and am always looking for new recommendations.

I'll chat with anyone and I'm very immature (traumatic childhood) so tend to get along better with people younger than me or are equally immature.

I'm not sure when I'll unlock private messages but I'll keep posting until I do, I'll keep posting afterwards too because I want to make sure people don't feel alone in their thoughts. My advice may not be the best but a broken clock is right twice a day.

Hi, I am a 25M from the United States. If they handed out awards for being a social recluse, I'd probably score in the top 1%.

I don't trust people very easily because they have repeatedly shown to be mostly self-interested in my lived experiences. I do not deny that I have my own self-interests, or pretend like I'm entirely above it; however, I have had the tendency in the past to place others above myself. So predictably, this has left me in vulnerable positions. While my trust in people is fragile at times, such prolonged isolation has proven not to be very good for my psyche.

I have had a hard time finding people I genuinely relate to. Though admittedly, my mistrust in people as a whole is not entirely justified either. So here I am... on a friend thread. Because why not?

What do I expect out of a 'friend'? (Just as guidelines. Not expecting perfection or flawlessness.) Honesty, integrity, communication, and shared values in exactly that order. I care less about hobbies or common interests at this point. I just want someone with whom I can be real with, care about, and have them reciprocate equally. That's all. I'm not looking for charisma or performative 'goodness'. I'm just looking for someone who knows who they are, and who they aren't.

Ugh I wish I had a PC game, some indie games seem so fun when I watch streamers play. I also agree, labels and defining yourself can seem rather exhausting at times.

I love cats too! Also, just wanted to give you a heads up, sometimes the messaging system here is buggy and you have to explicitly go to chat, and navigate to private conversations. It's a hassle. The much easier way to message people is starting a conversation with them. I haven't used the site in quite a while, but last I used it, it notified you when there was a reply to your conversation. I hope you have a good night/day depending on your time zone, and keep trying at art, I really think you're better than you give yourself credit for.

It's a french horror film from 1960 about an esteemed surgeon and his daughter, who's face is left severely disfigured after a car accident. The father becomes obsessed with restoring her beauty by capturing young womrn and transplanting their faces onto his daughter (which doesn,'t succerd on the first attempt, as might be guessed).

The film has a very remarkable and poetic ending so I reccomend watching it to the end if you do end up watching it.
