• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Canadian here. I don't think this is any surprise and the goalposts will keep moving. Naturally, as a member of this forum, I am deeply sympathetic to anyone wishing to end their life for whatever reason and strongly support MAiD in principle. But I do believe, with more and more people looking at MAiD as a solution to poverty or homelessness, that we cannot let society and government get away with their failures. Perhaps pushing expansion out would force governments and policymakers to address some of the issues that cause such hopelessness. I sound like an optimist when I'm not really. I support MAiD, but I can see how it can be misused and mishandled. Though many of us wish to die, many others don't, and perhaps some would change their minds if they had other types of support. Just my two cents. Peace.

Those who can get MAID when it's eventually available certainly are fortunate. I think that those who are able to exit peacefully are the most luckiest people. There's nothing like that at all in the UK, suicide is still very stigmatised here.

Disappointing. I know people think it could be abused but, imo, unless the government are literally dragging people into buildings and injecting them, I don't really see this as a problem. If someone wants to live, I think that's something that you can't really change their mind about easily as people seem to think. You can't just convince someone to literally die if they don't want to. (imo anyway.) I think they're being overly cautious, but I haven't looked into it fully tbf.

Of course assisted suicide will continue to be impossible, the delusional pro-life groups will do anything they can to remove peaceful ctb methods. Life really is horrifying and this is just living proof. I absolutely hate almost everything about life and the way people restrict ctb access is disgusting, after all MAID is a human right not a privilege.

The people making these laws have the privilege of not suffering from severe mental illness. They could never understand or truly empathize with our suffering.
