Lottery win

Got a phone call from a family member today who has won a bit on the lottery and wanting to give some to family members near an far. My question is should I accept it counting what my family put me through over the years. I'm aged 30 but was sexually abused throughout my teens by some family members. My head is a mess about it all. The cash could help with my mortgage on my home. Then again I just don't want anything from them. I haven't spoke to any of them in at least 10yrs now all of a sudden they want me back or paying me back should I say. Opinions please ps it's not a hole lot of cash but it is something I dunno what to do... And it's only here I can ask questions as I have no know one what's so ever.. thanks everyone

If someone wants to offer you money accept it. Maybe they are trying to make amends and/or lessen guilt or maybe they just want to do a nice thing. Accepting money does not obligate you to anything, so take it and run if that is your wish. Be safe in the process but assuming you can do that just take it and never look back

Oh definitely take the money - it doesn't mean you have to speak to any of them afterwards. Call it a tiny amount of "compensation" for what you endured.
Having principles is expensive so you need to take their money to keep your principles up and running for a long time. Good luck :-)

I wouldn't want that shit. Money isn't going to fix this and I don't want anyone thinking that the harm they caused was solved/ paid off/ excused. I would die a homeless person in a trash bin before I took a single cent from certain people on this Earth.
But all said - that is just me. I am a stubborn, stupid person. Each of us has to decide what they can take and give in this life. I wouldn't begrudge you for taking that money.

Tbh don't think I will take it I don't want them saying oh Sarah is fine now no way. Money cannot fix my past and present and future. As much as it would help with my home I can't see me ever staying in it for ever. Hence why I am on here. My financial circumstances is ok I get by I live a simple life so noting will change for me. I guess I'll have a good sleep on it and make decision tomorrow when I wake up. So far my decision is a big fat NO pmsl..
